Weight loss plateau driving me mad!!

I have been losing weight and gaining some lean muscle for six months now and don't get me wrong,my gains have been good. However after losing 20lbs I'm now stuck on 12 stone and the culprit is belly fat....I just can't shift it...I do hiit and circuits but I can't strip that stomach fat! I eat six small meals that are protein based and I have lost weight and gained lean muscle on shoulders,arms,back,legs but the belly remains...help! Any comments welcome..Thanks
 
Losing 20lbs and gaining lean muscle in 6 months, sounds like you're doing great. To be honest with you, you just have to give it time. You should be happy with the improvements you made.

I don't know how often you switch up your program, but maybe it's time to shock your body by doing something different. Add a new cardio exercise or instead of circuit training, try a power lifting routine.

Whenever I begin to plateau, whether it be in lifting or muscle gain, I switch up my lifting routine and it's almost like starting all over and getting the benefit of those awesome results again. A lot of people don't like changing out of routine, but what can it hurt? I've been doing this for years, it's just part of your body's adaptation process.

As long as you continue on a good diet, I think you'll start seeing the results you want. Well done on your progress so far, don't give up!
