Weight loss help!

Hello everyone. So I've been going a long time of wanting to go to the gym to lose weight but i just never had the time to go and just four days ago i signed up at a gym near my house. So far all I've been doing is cardio; elliptical and bikes(stationary). I am 19 years old, 5'11" and 247 pounds (well 240 now). I have man boobs and im trying to lose that as well. My goal is to go down to 180 pounds and below. I am really giving it my all for this! I know i can do it. Am i going at this weight loss in the right direction or is there more i should be doing any help would be appretiated. Thanks!

Edit---------

Also what, if any, diet should I be on? Like breakfast, lunch and dinner, in between and what foods?

You sound like where I'm currently at (18y/o 230~), I've lost a good 80+ so far, so I'd suggest stay on the elliptical like I will be until like 210~ then start doing weight lifting/training to sculpt (burn more fat etc). For the diet, I'd suggest just eliminating all sodas/junk food like I did, and then just find out how many calories you burn a day and creating a deficit. Best of luck because I'm shooting for a similar goal.

yeah i dont drink soda or eat junk food at all! im drinking probably around a gallon of water a day or more, and that is all ive been drinking nothing else.

Google 'maintenance calorie calculator' and figure out how many calories you burn a day. Then cut that by 500 daily. Don't go too low or your body will go into starvation mode and hold onto the fat. Good luck.

The most frequent question I get from teens (and from everyone, really) is how to lose fat over specific areas. We all store excess fat in certain places and it always seems to be in less than desirable places, like the:

• Hips
• Butt
• Thighs
• Belly
• Waist
• Upper back
• Chest

So, is it possible to lose fat from these areas and, if so, which exercises work the best?

The truth is that spot reduction won’t work. That means that doing hundreds of crunches to get flat abs or leg lifts and squats to get thin thighs won’t work. So, if that doesn’t work then what does?

To lose fat, you have to burn more calories than you eat and then allow your body, and your genetics, to decide where the fat comes off. The most effective way to do this is with diet and exercise. Please try to follow all of my suggestion along with your current routine.

Exercise

One way to control your calories is to move around more by adding both structured exercise and general activity throughout the day. I would like to recommend spending at least one hour in any sorts of physical activity you like most. It could be:

• Riding a bike
• Skateboarding or inline skating
• Swimming
• Dancing
• Walking or running
• Sports
• Shooting hoops

Aside from being more active, watching what you eat is another important component of losing weight. Are you aware of taking healthy diet to lose your weight? Then you should be.

There are other ways to cut unnecessary calories include:

• Too many sodas, juices and sports drinks can really add up. Replace them with water and you'll save plenty of calories.

• Most fruits and vegetables are high in fiber and nutrients while low in calories. That means you'll fill up faster and eat less. Try having fruit as snacks or before meals to cut calories without feeling hungry.

• There's nothing wrong with having an occasional burger and fries, but avoid having those types of foods every day. Make them a treat that you only have every now and then.

• If you get hungry in the afternoon, keep your snacks healthy by avoiding candy, cookies, and other tempting sweets. Also, pay attention to other reasons you may eat, like being bored, tired, or feeling blue. Emotional eating only makes things worse and doesn't make your problems go away.

Eating regularly throughout the day is also important for keeping your metabolism going and your body fueled for all you want to accomplish. So keep it up.

Inline skating is for young and old-so you have not to think anything worth. is not only super funny and fun, it is also healthy for the back muscles, for your depleting weight, ftiness, endurance and coordination training. Ideal for a daily exercise program.
if you only skate every two days 10km then you can lose in 4 weeks 2kg.
For beginners you can take a skate with small wheel size.
