Weight loss and health help :)

Hi, I'm a 15 year old male. I weight about 154lbs and am about 5'11. I'm quite flabby, especially around the thighs, buttocks and lower abdomen.

I'm not entirely sure whether I need to lose weight or exercixe and do weight training to improve my physique.

I naturally eat very little, roughly 1800 calories a day (very little I know but I just don't eat much: I don't starve myself). I cycle 6 miles everyday to and from school and do 2 one and a half hour PE sessions in school.

My question is: do I need to lose weight. If, as I suspect, I do, how much and at what rate, do I need weight training, more exercise or fewer calories. I'm certain I don't want to mess up my metabolic rate (through yo-yo dieting, my mother's mb is b*ggered). Any help will be very greatly apprecated. Thanks in advance.

Hi weight training is good, but running and walking may give you a better stamina, Weight training can make muscles out of the body weight you have already. I would say start out lighter weight, and watch the carbs you eat, carbs and no sodas-Sodas have high fructose corn syrup so check the product, we don't and lay off the sweets and breads. check out a low carb diet that will help you to burn the inches, your thing is to be healthy and not out of shape, you might be a medium framed person or large framed. sometimes guys are maybe bigger built that girls. body mass, for instance. Just keep at it and maybe these suggestions will help you.
