Weight Goal Suggestions

Trying to re-figure out what I should set my weight goal to. Any suggestions for a 5'8", always bottom heavy, pear shaped medium frame female?

Wow, you are doing incredible so far! Good job!

You might just want to throw the goals out the window and just keep losing til you like what you see.

I think it's good to set up goals in the beginning for motivation, but unless you've been at a weight you liked and know what that looks like on you, I wouldn't put to much value on getting to a specific number.

Keep up the fantastic work and good luck!

Let’s not lose focus of what your really trying to do which is to improve your body composition, correct? This really comes down to body fat percentage rather than body weight. Even body mass index isn't that great because it doesn't account for people with a good deal of lean tissue on them.

There are quite a few ways with varying accuracy of determining your body fat percentage. If you had the opportunity to do hydrostatic weighing of yourself this would give you a really good idea of how much extra fat you were carrying currently. Other methods are BIA (bioelectrical impedance analysis) which can give you an okay idea of where you stand but the reading will vary quite a bit depending on the instrument and your hydration levels. Other methods would be calliper testing or hip to waist ratios.

You could pursue methods of having your body fat tested if you really wanted to establish a carefully calculated number as your goal but what do you do after you hit that number? I say go for the gusto, focus on eating as healthy as possible and setting new records at every workout. Your only limits are the ones you set for yourself.

I would suggest that you don't focus on a number at this point but wait and see what feels right. I know that my goal weight changed several times over the course of my weight loss and might even change again as I get near the end.

It's more about look and feel than about a number on the scale, IMO.
