Weight coming down, but shape problem.

Hi all, I'm new here.
Not sure if this is the correct forum, but...

Ok, I'm 35 and have already lost a good amount of weight. Down 35 lbs. from 260 to 225. My goal is around 180. (Possibly lower, but I'll reassess then.)

About 6 years ago I went from 220 to 180 just by dieting alone, and the weight stayed off for a few years. I looked good and everything was fine.

Well, lifestyle and job stress eventually changed that. Long story short, I changed jobs and lifestyle and and put myself on a diet again.

Things are progressing well, but there is a new problem this time around. While I'm losing weight, my belly shape isn't coming into line like it did last time. It has gotten significantly smaller, but still has the flabby shape.

So, do I just have to be more patient as my weight comes down, or do I need to work in some kind of exercise? What kind? I'm not looking for ripped abs or anything, but I need to get rid of the roll. I won't have much time in the day to spare, so the quicker the exercise time, the better. Also, what is the difference from last time? My age?

Any tips would be appreciated.

You can't spot reduce fat so no specific exercise is going to make you lose fat in your stomach area.

All you can do is keep losing the weight in a responsible and healthy manner.

Doing some ab exercises might be beneficial as to sculpt the underlying muscles into bigger and firmer abs but the flab problem is only going to be resolved by losing the fat.

Due to you being older now it is possible for the skin to have lost some elasticity. You won't know for sure until you've dropped almost all of the fat.

Good luck!

Its interesting I came across this, because after I had my son 11 years ago, I have been overweight. I never lost the weight from getting pregnant and then put on even more after my daughter. Even though I have lost 47 lbs, my stomach is still very saggy and flabby. It is disheartening that I did that to myself and wonder what will happen with all that extra skin when I loose the rest of my 33 lbs. Good luck on your journey!
