I'm not sure if this is the right place for my post, so sorry if that's the case. Also, I'm so happy that I found a place where I can share my feelings about my weight.

I just recently started gaining weight. It almost happened overnight. I thought it was simply weight fluctuation, but the weight has been on for two weeks now. My daily caloric intake has remained constant, but I did start eating more carbs (more rolled oats) and switched from greek yogurt to regular yogurt. Has anyone ever had water retention last for this long? My calories have not changed enough to explain this extra pound in weight, but I cannot figure out what it could be.

Please help.

Hi there. Yes, if you don't weigh yourself regularly, it's easy to let a few new habits creep in and before you know it, you're looking at the scale in absolute shock! From my experience, not all calories are created equal. Increasing your carbs while reducing protein or fat intake could very well have created your weight gain despite no change in total calories. For myself (and this is just for me), when I look at carbs I focus on the sugar content and fiber. I like low sugar, high fiber. Because of this, if I eat yogurt, I generally only have Greek Yogurt (plain). I add a small amount of honey or pure maple syrup for taste and some frozen berries, cinnamon, vanilla, raw almonds etc. This literally only takes a couple of minutes to make but nutritionally I think I'm miles ahead of normal, sweetened yogurt, even if it's the same number of calories.

Let me know if you have any thoughts or questions about this.
