Hey everyone. This whole idea of weight loss has been a big factor in my life. Since I got out of high school I made the decision to start. It has been two years since I chose to make that decision and man it's been so on and off. Sometimes I go through a week of eating right and then I fall off. Sometimes it is just a day. Mind you, this cycle has been going on for 1-2 years. Yeah. Pretty bad. So now I've made the decision to just ease into it, which was not what I planned to do at first. I cut my calories a bit too short, in a small interval of time, and I think that's where the mistake was. So instead, I'm going to make the effort of small and easy changes. Here's my plan:
Week 1 (Dec 4 - Dec 11) - 2400 calories
Week 2 (Dec 12 - 19) - 2300 calories
Week 3 (Dec 20 - 27) - 2200 calories
Week 4 (Dec 27 - Jan 3) - 2100 calories
... and the all the way to 1500-1600 calories a day (stopping there)
Mind you, 1500-1600 calories was my goal per day when I started. To others that may seem quite attainable, but for me, not so much. I'm sick of tired of this constant cycle of success and failure. So, hopefully this will help me. So if there's anything that you can learn from my mistakes, don't do what I did and start off at a decently low calorie intake. Well, for me at least, it did not work, so if it is not working for you maybe try this method.
So yeah let's cut the negatives and bring in some positive results from these past two years!
1. I have already cut off all drinks other than water and black coffee in the morning (sometimes). I haven't had a pop in at least a year. Seriously aha, I don't even remember when I drank
anything but water or black coffee.
2. Leaving high school I was 205 pounds at 5'5 (DAMN), I am now 176 pounds at 5'6.
3. Learned so much about weight loss and diet this past few years. I have implanted in my head that it all boils down to how much you eat (CICO). Calorie deficit = weight loss, and it is a simple as that. Not diet pills, special liquid diets, no carb diets. Those are out the window. Though, for other people those diets may work, but for me, nope. I'll stick to counting my calories daily, which again is another positive that I have gotten from these past 1-2 years.
Well, that's my plan so far. I don't expect to lose too much for the first month as I'm only at a 100-400 calorie deficit per day in the span of 1 month. Maybe I'll lose a pound or two, only time will tell. But yeah, I hope this plan will work. I feel that it is easier than what I tried to accomplish, and will build those small habits/goals that will keep me going. It's kind of funny thinking that the notion of small, easy, attainable goals is finally drilled into my head after 1 and a half year of failure. Well, at least I'm starting now.
Oh and exercise?
Let me get my diet straightened out first. Dieting and pushing myself physically is not fun, especially when battling the stresses of school comes into play. Maybe I'll consider this down the road when I would like to gain muscle/look cut.
Thanks!
