Weak Wrists

I was wondering if anybody has any advice on how to build up my left wrist.
Ive had pain their for a few months now and I went to see my doctor and he put it down to a skateboarding accident I had when I was a teenager where I broke it.
My wrist feel fine when doing anything in the gym but when it comes to pushups there useless they just wont bend back far enough and causes too much pain. The pain is muscular so I was wondering whether I should just grin and bear it to build them up or whether I should work on my forearms more and build them up.
Theres nothing wrong with my right wrist which is an advantage!:)

re: pushups. You could look into buying some pushup bars, which would allow you to do pushups without having to bend your wrists.

And I suppose for building up the wrist muscles, you could try wrist curls or maybe even grippers.

Mind you, I'm no expert in any of this, but these could help.

I have the same problem. actually, it used to only bother me when trying to do push ups, but now i cant even bend it down without it hurting and it pops everytime. i see a specialist next week

just dont over do anything. if it hurts to do push ups, just dont do them, or if you dont want to buy push up bars, try just using DB's (Thanks for that idea Trevor)

Magic I will try some push up bars as I dont have any problem with dips apart from having to do them assisted with my feet on a bench or jump dips Ive still got some work to do when working with my own body weight but I suppose with losing the weight and doing weights etc this will become easier.

But is it a problem related to weak muscles, or something unfixable - from your past injury? Because if it is, trying to build up muscle in that area won't be of great benefit, in fact it will probably hurt like hell.

But I'd recommend:
- Reverse Curls
- Wrist Curls
- Hammer Curls
(All with dumbbells, they target forearms for strength pretty well)
- Any gripping exercise (like those squeezy things)

I Broke My Right Wrist Boxing 6 Month Ago, I Found The Best Excercise For Recovery Was To Buy A Pilates 1kg Small Ball And Do Rotation Exercises Buildin Time Up On It Every Day. Skipping Also Makes Your Wrists Stronger. Good Luck .....
