Water loss in Weight loss

In my gym, they recommend steam bath (sauna) for weight loss!
The owner says you'll lose water hence weight will reduce.
Isnt that kinda stupid (i'm a noob) ?
Coz the more water you have, the more energy your body will spend in trying to absorb water from your GIT, then heating it all the way to 37 degree celsius (normal body temperature), also more glasses of water means more visits to toilet which itself will help you burn a few calories

So isn't it better to drink lots of water and not do steaming if you wanna lose weight healthily, not just like dehydrating yourself and shouting i've lost 1 kilo, etc

Water wieght loss is something I do very often to make weight in wrestling. I sit in a steam room for a bit and loose like 3 pounds. Though this is not ideal for actual weight loss because I gain all the water weight back next time I drink.

YES you will be losing weight

No it is not important weight and will be gained back no matter what you do unless dont drink.. and then you die

There might be some good weight loss but dont take my word that you wont loose good weight loss fat. Other than that the steam room makes you feel great! :)

Know the destinction between Weight loss and Fat loss. While sitting in a suana is GREAT for weight loss ( water is weight too), it is not effective in term of fat loss. Saunas have it's benefits like Mass said, to lose water weight to make weight for events or to help reduce sorenss but in term of FAT loss, its not effective.

Your instinct is right, in the long run sauna does not help fat lost at all. Long run as in a few days. Now, when you are dehydrated, the brain will sometime send signals that you are hungry when you are actually thristy. To make matter short, drink tons of water in order to aid in FAT loss. Try to aim for over 1 gallon of water a day.

Listen to your instinct bud,

You may be a noob, but that guy is a nob.

It's all about fat loss, that is what you want to lose. Forcing yourself to dehydration or losing water is undesirable and you'll gain it all back anyway.

Take this note, gyms workers/owners are usually very uneducated with anything except on how to use weights.

Water is essential for everybody - it is also the key to losing weight. If you haven't been drinking enough water, your body has developed a pattern of storing water. This water retention equals extra unwanted weight.

There were only a few people who actually suggest sauna bathing as a way to lose fat.Sauna usually make your body dehydrated, that why you weight drop a little bit, but it just while until you drink again. When you do sauna your body lose water not fat.
