Hi!

The link I put in my previous post this AM was named "Bibliograpy", not "Football Forums" as is in there now! I'm deleting it from the previous post. Here's the address to the bibliography I referred to in my provious post: drsears.com/ZoneResources/Bibliography/tabid/416/Default.aspx

Right.

I'm asking you for one study since you seem well read in this. I assume you do your own research and not rely solely on one man's words in a book?

I just joined and as I have found a lot of this forum to be very very informative and supportive. I hope I dont get chewed out for asking this question (making this remark) . Does a sarcastic answer have to follow a legitimate question from someone who is genuinely just trying to find out if something is safe or not? I've been reading a lot of threads and this seems to happen over and over again. I understand that fad diets and other things that arent healthy should be denounced so that we spead healthy information out there but geesh. A simple no that is not healthy because of x,y.z would suffice at times. I would feel really insulted if I came on here and instead of answering my question someone just threw out a sarcastic remark like they were gonna start a new product of their own. If this is really the "tone" of this board I think I'll go on lurking. The pics and success stories are very inspiring

I think I'll continue being myself. What many people seem to miss (you included) is the fact that there's a nifty, very easy to use feature known as ignore.

If you don't like reading a particular person's posts, simply put them on your ignore list.

Why waste your time writing posts like these when you can simply 'erase' what's bothering you with a few clicks of the mouse?

This is a forum of many different people with diverse backgrounds and experiences. You can't possibly expect 'the flow' to conform to your idea of what's appropriate and what's not.

My time wasnt wasted. I accomplished what I very well set out to do. Point out how I believed that grown adults didnt have to result to being rude and sarcastic under the guise of giving "advice"

But you were right on one point. Where's that ignore button?.........

Well it sounds like a comforting drink.... thats all I have to say... OH and Steve! Put me down for a dozen miracles please, I know a few people who could use some... Thanks!

You will need some protein and carbs so you can doing your exercise and also your daily activities. About the maple syrup, I dont think that its effective though

I was just reading about the Lemonade Diet, which I hear works, though I'm not going to put my body through that. The diet consists of drinking salt water to make your body eliminate a lot, plus they want you to drink laxative tea. Yuck! I'm doing my own healthy fast since I just bought a Jack Lalanne juicer. It works amazingly and boy do I ever feel great after having "real" veggie juice. I have a few tiny carbs here and there, and actually since I don't eat sugar, I find that honey is a healthy way to keep my blood sugar levels up when the fruit doesn't do it.

warm water, lemon, honey... only thing that is missing is some Jack Daniel's and a cinnamon stick... and you've got yourself a Tennessee Hot Toddy. Its an awesome cold 'remedy', by the way.

Read some good things about Lemon, Warm water and honey!

Im gonna try this out from tommorow .. plus an intense 2 hour work out in the eveings... Will share the changes/or not with u soon :)

Dotty, you really don't need that stuff for weight loss. It is a myth that was disproved over the past. (not to mention this is a very old thread. Please try not to bump up old threads :) )

Hey Jericho :) !!

Heard quite a lot of good stuff about the Lemon thing... Thanks for the confirmation !!!

Dotty :)

Hi,

Warm water is really good for you, as if any water (doesn't have to be warm). You need about 2 - 3 litres a day, you don't need the lemon or honey but if you like lemon add as much as you like, it really doesn't matter. Could be lime also if you prefer it. Only do this tho in the morning, you don't need the lime/lemon in the water all day. I wouldn't bother with the honey, although it has value nutritionally I would rather use the calories to maybe add taste to a healthy dessert. :)

Hey ...

Thanks for the info .. However, this method is not doable for me as I leave pretty early for work ... I wanna do this over the weekends though ....

Thanks.. Dotty

Hello everybody,

Hot water lemon honey all three things are mixing in a glass and drink the water. It is very effective for loosing weight. But i thing honey in cold water is increased the weight. I also apply this.

I'm sorry but you are wrong..medical science and studies have proved this. The honey and cold water only can increase the weight cause of the honey and you would have to be eating quite a bit of it to impact your weight that much.

Ha ha ha... i find it so funny to read the comments by so many people... who are claiming that medical science has proved that honey +lemon+hot water is not good for drinking... wow.. sorry but cannot control to call that doc a stupid who said that he has proved it( i hope he's not obese).. where did you read from US secret Service?? LOL..share the details... dont just put wrong info for people...

honey is sweet yes but when its taken with lemon due to the citric acid its behavior changes.. its like for drinking water u cannot smell hydrogen first and oxygen later you have to have the water(H2O - a combination) but there is a lot of hydrogen and oxygen in air y dont we breathe water its again chemistry. People should learn a word called "Property" - that changes when you mix something with the other... Lemon, gooseberry, aloevera are amazing stuff for metabolism and as detox... I saw that people doing yoga these days alot - as deep breathing is the best to cut fat as ur metabolism goes high... try this practically sometime ... after eating do deep breathing for 20 mins thats it... and you will feel that in an hour u can have full meal again(guranteed and for this you wont have to depend on medical science)... i lost 15 Kgs just by deep breathing and eating these detox but i noticed a pattern when i was just using detox (gooseberry, aloe vera leaves) it was doing great n i lost 9 kgs in 22 days.. but the process became faster when i started taking honey and lemon in warm water and i lost 6Kgs in 8 days it definitely helps also for those who have dry skin taking this will give u a glow.. have a little cucumber also in breakfast... NEVER take honey and Lemon with cold water it helps in gaining weight for underweight peole...

There is no myth in this... try this for a week and see ur self you dont have to listen to anyone then.. u know ur body the best.

I find it funny that you really believe what you are writing.

If you take a moment and google it, you will find studies (and I mean proper, medical studies) which debunk the water and honey myth once and for all. Nobody said it wasn't good for drinking by the way - you can drink it all you want, if you can make room for the extra calories from the honey. It just won't help you lose weight, no matter if the water is warm or cold.

The rest of what you wrote....I don't even know where to start. It's just such a mass of complete and utter nonsense....it's scary to think that you really think it makes any sense. Honestly.

I'd suggest to anybody that they do indeed rather listen to medical science and things that are proven facts, rather than somebody that tries to tells you that honey changes its nutritional value because it is mixed with lemon (hint: It doesn't!).

I am glad that you managed to lose weight with this, but how about talking about it again in a year, and see if you managed to keep the weight off that you managed to 'breathe away'?!

I wish we had a smily that shakes its head in disbelief....we really, really need one.

First, what San said..second..what the hell are you smoking??

1) Citric Acid doesn't change the properties of honey. It is still a sugar..still calories thus still has to be factored in to weight loss. You know why honey is often added to lemon or other acids? Cause it cuts the sour taste.

As per a study by the national honey board (http://www.bjcp.org/mead/4tastes.pdf) and excuse the formatting as it is originally this way and I didn't want to take the effort in fixing it for you:

Honey Can Decrease the Sourness of Solutions and Has the Potential to Improve Consumer Acceptability of Sour Products

To measure this effect,

honey was added to citric
acid solutions of varying
concentrations. The
perception of sourness
was linearly related to the
concentration of citric
acid. The sourness
intensity of a 0.08% citric
acid solution was rated at
50 and the addition of
25% honey (clover,
orange blossom or
wildflower) decreased the
sourness to a rating of 14-
17. This effect was even
more pronounced in very
sour solutions (0.15%
citric acid); the addition of
25% honey resulted in
almost a 75% decrease in
sourness (from 100 to 22–
26).

It's not the 'properties' of the honey that is changes, it's the perception on the taste buds that changes. Neither matter for weight loss.

2) Detox is a myth debunked so many times in so many ways that for me to list all the medically sound studies against it would fill this page. Don't get your science from the weight loss industry.

3) Deep breathing? ok, you can induce hyperventilation if you want but it's not going to help you lose weight. In the case of metabolic acidosis, the body uses hyperventilation as a compensatory mechanism to decrease acidity of the blood. In the setting of diabetic ketoacidosis, this is known as Kussmaul breathing - characterized by long, deep breaths.

Changes acidity in blood..not for weight loss either..and not something to do lightly. Deep breathing does NOTHING to fat.

And finally.......ANYONE suggesting that losing almost 20 pounds in 8 days is healthy is an idiot. Let me rephrase that because I'm going to break my own rule on this. If you find this insulting, take it up with the site admin.

You are an idiot. NO ONE should take your advice on this. It is unhealthy, dangerous, and medically false.
