Go do the Presidential Traverse at Mt. Washington in NH. I lost 12 lbs in two days, lol. Everyone who sees me says, "you look emaciated!"

Lovely.

Gordy threw out a number while we were climbing saying we were burning close to 1000 calories per hour. I'm not so sure how accurate that is but I'm sure it's up there considering the terrain, temps, and the pack on our backs.

This coupled with the fact that the only thing I ate each day was a couple of bars.

Energy has to come from someplace.

I've looked better at higher weights too.... which I don't really care. I def. lost some muscle but whatever.

you are one person I have no doubt you will get yourself back to where you want to be...

(fwiw -i think you look good at whatever weight you're currently at :D

Next time you do this trek - would you change your eating habits? bring more food along with you? etc?

Thanks Mal.

I don't think I'd do anything different in terms of food. I wasn't hungry really suprisingly. Too tired, cold, and out of breathe to eat. Whenever I felt drained or slightly hungry, I'd pop a cliff bar or snickers bar down and move on.

I did have dehydrated food packs.

I let Gordy make me one when we broke into the cabin but of course he didn't put enough water in it and it was crunchy. So crunchy I didn't eat it. But if we end up doing the winter climb next year, I'd probably eat a few of those since the warmness in the tummy would be nice.

If we do the winter hike, basically all the gear would change.

Nearly one big frozen piece, lol, but back nonetheless and that's what matters.

Thanks Ally.
