want to lose a 100 pounds

hey everyone im 5 foot 11 and i weight around 245 pounds. About 2 years ago i weighed 165 pounds and recently i blew up to 245. I was an athlete and always played basketball. This isnt the first time i have been overweight when i was 12 i was around 230 then i lost weight and got down to 165. I managed to keep the weight off for 5 years and now im up to 245. I cant stand being this big and i need to lose weight. I think junk food is my weakness and i want to get rid of that habbit once and for all. Im thinking about starting by haveing a 5 day juice fast to detoxify my body from all the junk. I will be posting on this site and update everyone on my progress. I joined this site because i need some support and its hard to be motivated if nobody supports you.
 
I dont recommend the juice detoxification, but I'm no expert. :/ Wouldnt eating right and drinking lots of water eventually help you detox? Best of luck on your journey!

I'm not crazy about this juice fast idea. I'd expect that you'll last for awhile and then get so hungry/crazy you'll do a spree at BK or some crap fastfood place in the middle of the night. Not good!
Have you seen your doctor? Had a physical? With 100lbs you've got a big job and it isn't going to be quick and easy. The doc may be able to provide you some support, especially if you belong to an HMO. ANY health plan has a vested interest in keeping you healthy.
You're going to need something you can live with and still enjoy life and a key part is to start thinking about all this crap food as poison. Sure, you're going to cheat, but having a nasty treat once in awhile is key to success.
You used to be active, so can you resume some pleasurable activity? Play basketball a couple of times a week? Anything!
Without knowing your basal metabolism I'd guess you'll begin losing weight at under 1800 calories a day. You'd be surprised at how much food that it.
Craft a plan and come back with it.
