want to drop a dress size

Hi everyone, I've been trying to loose weight since about last october when I was 11 stone 6. Currently I'm 10.7 but I do find it seems to go up and down a bit. At the moment I'm going to stick to weighing myself once a fortnight.

I've been about a size 14 for years, although when I look back at photos its clear that sometimes I've been bigger and smaller without nessarily realising it.

I think one of the biggest changes I've made is just having the one dinner, and not putting too much on my plate. I live with my bf and he works late every other week, coming home at 10:30 and having his dinner then, because of this I'd often have something with him as well. Plus he can eat loads as he stands up alot in his job and just uses up alot more energy.

I've been going to the gym for over a year (not always that consistently though lol) I find that sometimes I have a week or two when I go loads and then I seem to get busy or something. I'm a student, so I've got the whole summer free to exercise, I've got some great dvds. Ministry of sound, which is just hilarious, a yoga one and some of the 10 min solution ones, the one with the gym ball is my favourite.

Eatting wise I try to eat lots of friut and veg, which should be easy as I'm a vegetarian. I cook half the time, and I have to admit the other time I do stick on a veggie burger or pizza. When I do cook its usually chilli or curry which are good for getting my beans and lentils, or a tomato based pasta dish. I also still have the odd pudding now and then, but I try and listen to when I'm full.

I definatly feel fitter and my confident about exercise. I'd really like to get down to a size 12 and stay there without cutting out too much food. My measurements at the moment are Bust 36 inches, Waist 30 inches, Hips 36 inches, Top of Arms 12 inches, and Thigh 24 inches. I'm 5 foot 7 and 24 years old.

Anyone got any tips on how I could do more to get to my goal of a size 12?

Judging by your measurements and height you can't be that big. I am 5' 3" and 3/4 I usually say 5' 4". But anyways I weigh 151.8 with clothes and my measurements are very close to yours. I wear a size 10 and they are a little loose. Try on a size 12 and see how they fit! You may be surprised and need to change your goal to a size 11 or 10.

When you go to the gym try to do more on the treadmill and stationary bike. I do setup while throwing a 7 lb ball in a loop, lol. Sounds like you are doing good. But I wonder if you are eating enough. Try drinking about 60 to 64 oz of water through the day.

Hi :) no I don't think I am big, but I am about a size 14, some of my clothes are size 12 but that's usually skirts and dresses not trousers. Also I didn't mention I live in the Uk, I'm not sure but I think a USA size 10 is about a size UK 14. I'm gonna start a food diary to see if I'm eatting enough/ too much/ the right things. oh also just wanted to point out that when I say one dinner, I don't mean just one meal for the whole day, I have breakfast and lunch as well. I just meant I used to eat more in the evenings than I do now partly because of my bfs work shifts.
