This is probably going to be pretty long, so sorry in advance!
Hi, my name's Troy, I'm seventeen years old (turning eighteen on November the fifth), and I'm a female-to-male transgendered person. A part of my path to living as male is losing weight. I don't want to be one of those FTMs who chooses getting fatter to look more like a guy. I want to achieve a slim, masculine look, not a fat bull-dyke one... I've been overweight since elementary school, which I believe started partly with my grandmother. I was always one of those kids that got picked on in school, and when I would come home crying my grandmother's solution was "Here, honey, eat this, you'll feel better." So growing up, whenever I had a problem, I would be fed to fix it. My weight has been a problem for me since then. Don't get me wrong, I'm not HUGE, but I'm definitely chubby and I've always been unhappy with my appearance, weight wise. Besides the being overweight thing though, I think I'm a pretty good-looking person.
Now, I haven't weighed myself recently, but the last time I was weighed, which was probably some time during the fall months of last year, I was about two hundred something. I'm about 5'6" tall. I've lost some weight over the summer though (I, and others around me have noticed that I look thinner), but I'm still no where near where I wanna be. I reeeeally want to slim down to improve my appearance overall, and to also help along with hormones--which I'll be starting probably in a year or so--in making me look more masculine. I also, unfortunately, have a large chest (About 40 D or DD right now) which is partly inherited, and partly because I'm overweight. Knowing that breast size is one of the first things to go, I really want to slim down a lot to get my boobs smaller which will make it a LOT easier to flatten them, and also a lot easier to remove them surgically later on. It's for my overall health and well being too. Besides just appearance, I also want to be a healthy person.
Because I'm usually up all night and asleep during the day (I'm homeschooled) I've recently begun taking a walk around my community lake which I live right across from, each day at about 6:00 AM before falling asleep. The only thing I ever drink anymore is water, except on the weekends when I'm working at the local flea market, then sometimes I'm drinking gatorade or soda. My eating habits were very good over the past few months, however more recently (like in the past few weeks) I've barely been eating at all, which isn't intentional. However, when I was eating normally, I would usually have a piece of fruit for a snack, some sort of granola or cornflake kinda cerial for breakfast, maybe some sort of salad or sandwich for lunch, and probably some kind of pasta dish or something like that for dinner. I know lifting weights helps you lose fat too, so I just took two gallon jugs left over from the green tea my mom buys and filled them with water to start lifting with a few hours ago.
Anyway, based on my info, I was wondering if anyone had any good tips to help me lose my fat more efficiently? Is there anything I should keep in mind when it comes to what things I eat at what time of day? Maybe a certain kind of exercise I should be doing? Is walking around the lake every day and lifting weights going to be enough to slim me down by the beginning of next summer, or are there more steps I can take to really get myself down to where I wanna be? I'm so sick of being overweight, and it can sometimes feel very confusing and overwhelming trying to commit to losing all this weight and reaching my goal of transition from female to male... If anyone has any good tips, advice, etc, please please PLEASE help me out!
