I had a mortifing moment at the weekend! I was out at my nieces communion and half way through the celebrations my belt snapped open and flew across the floor. Everyone saw it and i was M O R T I F I E D!!!!!!!!!
:angelsad2:

I started my diet today- I have not weighed myself - i am doing it tomorrow for my starting weight- Ive a feeling im 19 stone- that would be my worse case senareo. This time last year i was 16 stone so 3 stone in a year is some joke!!!

Im getting married next year and i cant waddle down the aisle i will DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats on getting married next year! How exciting :D

I'm sorry you got so embarrased..I've had a similar thing where I got stuck in a garden chair. Damn my ghetto boooooty! It's a GOOD thing though--Because now you're motivated to lose weight and get fit!

Can you let us know your weight (when you do it) and height? Do you know how many calories you should be eating a day to lose a healthy amount a week? And how are you planning on losing weight? Question timeeee!!!

Welcome to the forum, lovely!

Welcome to the forum, lovely!

My height is 1.51 m so im under 5 foot- so i def shouldnt be this weight.I own a vibroplate for toning and i am hitting the gym and swimming with my sister so hopefully that will help me along my route:)

That's awful! That it should happen like that. Just use it to motivate yourself and shock all those who saw it with your new slim body when they next see you! Keep posting and congrats on deciding to do something about your weight! :)

Good morning!

Good morning all- Its 7.10am here in Ireland. Im off to the gym with my sister and my niece at 9. I am feeling better in myself already- im a lot fitter than i thought i was i didnt think i would be able to go on anything for more than 5 minutes :sifone:

Goal wise i think i would like to have lost 12 pounds by my friends birthday which is July 2nd!

Hi tilly welcome to the diary pages.

Congratulations on your wedding.

Good luck with the weightloss.

I"m going to repeat your stats so that its easy for others to find. We all always like to know height weight and i also like to know age.

You are 151cm, and 17 stone 12 pounds
or for the americans, 250 pounds and for the aussies and other metrics, 113.?
I guess you are in your 20s but maybe you are in your early 30s.

I hope you dont mind me doing that but it is frustrating for readers when we don't know where we are. It helps us give better advice and support when we know the starting essential factors.

When i joined up this site, i committed to posting daily for a year at least. What about you? (of course i have to go away for two months on Friday and can't do it then). But i do recommend making some commitments that you think you can keep and that will help you achieve your goals.

Apart from exercise, what is your diet strategy. Do you have one yet?

Generally we don't like to see people starving themselves here. So please try to adopt a sensible daily calorie intake. Starving yourself backfires and except for a particular type of person, ALWAYS ultimately results in failure. Its good to eat between 500-1000 calories less than your maintenance calories but never less than 1200.

You don't have to calorie count but its usually a good idea at some stage of your life and diet. I"ve done it before so i've got an idea of which foods are high in calories and which are low. All my meals are made up of low calorie foods so that i can eat a good sized meal and not feel hungry afterwards.

Yes im calorie counting, i have 1300-1400 cals a day, sometimes 1600 depending on how busy i am.

Hi! Firstly, huge congrats on the engagement! :)

Secondly, well done on losing 6lb :hurray:

Also, I see that you said you're the type of person who if you don't see results, you feel like giving up. If you follow heathy eating and do some exercise, I can guarantee that 90% of the time you will see results!

Good luck with your journey and well done on taking the first step :)

thanks- we have actually been engaged nearly 7 years(we got engaged after 4 months) so we finally set the date:)

Thanks.Yea i expect results overnight- i hate being like that:( Hopefully ill get out of that habit i am going to get myself measured and go by that as well

Maybe for motivation, think about how much better you're feeling or will be feeling? I had that problem with exercise- I was the kid who even the teachers laughed at when it came to sport. Not sure what I was thinking when I joined the gym. But today I find exercise really rewarding- it gives me an endorphin rush and helps me to lose weight and develop a nice shape. And similarly with food. I have a wicked sweet tooth- I could eat a tub of ice cream without thinking about it. But I never feel well after I do that, and I always feel really good physically after one of my low calorie desserts (big pile of fruit and yoghurt).

(and that's not even to mention the weight loss ;) )
