Hello. I just found this sight, and it looks fairly reliable, so I will go ahead and ask some questions I have been thinking about. Hopefully these aren't very standard newbie questions and haven't been asked too recently.
First of all, I am on a very intensive fat-burning program. I eat 6ish small meals a day, with the biggest meal coming at dinner before weight-training and evening cardio. I am taking both Xenadrine and Clen at the moment. I'm not really looking for help with my diet.
I weigh 230lbs and have a very long history of sports and exercise. I am trying to lose about 15-20lbs of fat, and quickly; I have a tendency to revert to a standard lifting-only schedule if I do not see progress fast enough, and I rarely stick to a weight-loss program long enough to lose the amount of weight I want.
My big question is with cardio. I have a stair-stepper in my house, and am currently doing 2x 60 minute sessions every day, one first thing in the morning before a meal and one an hour or two before bed. I also lift about 5 times a week. So the question is, am I doing the maximum amount of cardio possible? I would be willing to ramp it up to maybe 90 minutes twice a day, if I thought it would help. I really don't want to lose too much muscle, but fat loss is still the top priority.
So is 2x 60 mins/day too much, or could I step it up to 75-90 or possibly add a 2-3 mile run in the afternoon? What is the theoretical limit to how much cardio one should do every day? I don't want to make my body so used to it that I stop burning fat, or something strange like that.
Thanks for your time.
