Ok so I have been around here a while, but a new diary was needed.....my Inlaws are taking the whole familly on a trip down south...don'T know the location I will at Christmas can'T wait but I want to be able to wear a swimsuit and feel confortable doing it......I am 34 years old my starting weight as of this morning is 199.2lb, my goal is to be 159.2 by march 06 2014 ....I will not look like a supermodel....I am 5''3 so anything over 140lb is too much but I also want to make this an attainable goal....I will have to set myself a new goal to get to my healthy weight after I come back from my hollidays.

Obviously loosing weight is the main goal....but I also want to be fit. So I tested myself today and I need lots of work but I am up for the challenge.

Sept 11 2013 March 06, 2014

Starting weight: 199.2lb Goal weight: 159.2lb

Crunches : 10 Goal: 50

Push ups: 2 Goal: 15 (or more)

Running : 1.5 min Goal: 15 min (or more)

Ok so the push up is very sad...I am a grown women and all I can do is 2 push ups really......

So now that I have explained my goal here is the plan....the usuall eat healthy and I don't mean diet foods and fat free or diet sodas I mean eat real food....I will stay away as much as possible from processed foods, when I go to the grocerie store I will stick to the outside rows..produce dairy and meats ( I don't eat red meat but I do occasionally eat fish and chicken)

I plan to make exercise a bigger part of my life in order to meet my fitness goals I have no choice....I will mostly do threadmill and then some free wieght with videos from youtube. I hope to find the support I need on this website, I know it is full of understanding and like minded people and I hope you will join me on my journey!!!

That is a very attainable goal and a great reason to focus on for motivation!

Sounds like you have a solid plan, and like me seem to hate the idea of "diets". I try to stick to the outside rows...but often do not succeed. With that said I try to keep the inside rows to pasta, sauces, and that sort of thing that I just cannot make myself. I do need to watch some things I purchase though and read labels better...bought frozen chicken cutlets cuz they were on sale and took them home and OMG the # of ingredients in those are INSANE!!! You'd think it would be chicken and like bread stuff for the outside but nope, not a clue what's in them but never buying it again. *rant over* sorry...

So I guess my advise, if it isn't something fresh that you know exactly what it is, check the labels and ingredients to be sure what you are getting :)

Good to see you around again Vero!! I'm sure you can get to this goal you've set. Its all about being consistent!!

Kudos for steering clear of processed foods. I suspect it's easier for our bodies to meet new challenges/fitness goals with real nourishment rather than empty factory calories.

I'm doing the same thing, trying to stick with real food. Glad to see someone else with a similar goal, rather than just counting calories but eating whatever junk is available. Amazingly, you really have to thing about what you're eating when seeking out unprocessed foods. :)

I will retest my sit ups and push ups in two weeks I hope to see improvements!!!

2 pushups is a start! I was surprised how quickly I went from 6 pushups to 36.

Anyway, keep up the good work, don't fret the dropped balls, it happens.

Sucks that your friend promised you a healthy breakfast and then fed you poptarts :( Bad friend!
All you can do is forgive yourself, forget it, and move forward.

Little John.....I will take your word for it.....I can't wait to do at least 5 push ups.....I am not quitting....that is the only way to fail.....It is all part of a journey good and bad days!

Good Morning

Yesterday I ended up making chicken stew instead of veggie sheppards pit mostly cause I had all the ingredients to make it with out having to go to the store....Since the bank account is anorexic right now I try to stick with stuff that we have at home.....

So still no news from my interview last week pray for me people I don't only want that job I need it....I have one more pay comming from EI and that it......and my husband could be laid off anytime.....he might be going on sick leave, can't wait for thing to start going up....right now I am walking around with no energy going in circles cause I am going insane...with stress I just hate not being in controle of anything, I know some people a worst off then I am so I should just suck it up and let go of the stress! That was my rant of the day.....I need a job! At this point doesnt even need to be something I like just a steady pay check

Food today

breakfast
2 whole eggs 1 ounce of cheese and 1 toast
Coffee

Lunch
smoothie same as yesterday but will add a carrot

diner
I am making a pork roast for the familly but I dont know what I will have myself maybe another smoothie like I said I have to use up what we have in the house not shoping !

Sheppards pit? Doesn't sound so appetizing :)
Though that chicken stew is making me want to try my hand at a beef stew perhaps...never tried making it...

Good luck with the job! I know how hard it can be and nerve wracking to not have a job and go for an interview for a job that would be really really good and then have to hurry up and wait. Have you tried calling them back? If it's been a week I don't think it's bad to call and just see how their process is going, if they have made a decision or when they hope to. Actually being persistent is how I got a job years ago, and still think it was one of the best jobs I got. Just out of university I was in a job that wasn't what I wanted and not what I was told it was going to be and I had a contact from another person who I applied to but couldn't hire me cuz the position was no longer there...anyways I would call and they'd say give them a week or two, so I'd call again and again and eventually they caved LOL. Lasted about a year and then the wife ended up being able to come back and work there more so sadly they no longer had enough work for me :( But still...persistence can be a good thing! Shows you are really interested and will either get you the job or force them to make a decision so you will stop calling. Are there any other opportunities for you right now? Temp agencies perhaps? May not be steady or good work but it's better than nothing right? Either way GOOD LUCK!!! Hope you get good news soon!

In the meantime you can control some things like applying to tons of places including employment agencies and hopefully something will come through soon. Also, you can control your eating and exercising so try focusing more on that and do something to help you relax and take your mind off the stress of not working.

Hey Icychick.....I keep applying to a lot of places but temps job are not an option,...because no daycare provider will accept working on and off they have places to fill they want to fill em up with full time clients and I can't blame em regular moeney is great! I know they had more interviews this week so I don't want to call em just yet also it is with a school board and they have to follow protocol with the union on how they are breaking the news and by phone is not an options they usually contact us via email but sometimes they use regular mail and we just have to hope for the best....

I am trying to keep my house spotless and I do my workouts.....and visit people who are also at home! I am also taking an online course but when I am this stressed it is hard to learn stuff. Thank you for your support it always nice to log on and see that I had a visitor!

:)

Protocol sucks LOL. But perhaps just calling to see when they will be making a decision, or when you should expect to hear from them? Do they let everyone know, or only the person(s) who is hired?

Yeah daycare and temp jobs don't work so well...but I know some agencies do short term work. Like you will be guaranteed full day work for 2 weeks or 2 months. Maybe if you got something like that a daycare place might be willing to work with you? Also some "temp" agencies are also employment agencies where they do help find full-time employment too.

Online courses are good, but yeah when you are stressed your mind just won't focus and it ends up making you more stressed :( Hopefully things start looking up for you soon!

Thank you Icy chick....in the meantime I am applying every job I am able to do something has to happen soon! It has too!

Diner tonight
3OZ chicken breast fried in a bit of olive oil
once the chicken is no longer pink I added garlic, red oignion , spinach, red pepper, zucini, puff ball mushroom, feta cheese and some italian and greek seasoning....usually I serve all the veggies on pasta but in order to loose weight I served it on chicken, and if I find some nuts pine or something similar I will add that into the mix for extra proteins!

Hey Vero, good luck with the job hunt. Job hunting is the worst!!

I do giant casseroles at dinner too to use as lunches during the week, makes life soooo much easier. As does my slow cooker, that thing keeps me going!

Unemployment sucks, I've done it a couple times.

That's a good looking recipe there, pretty easy, too! I'll have to give it a shot.

I made sweet potato burritos a few weeks ago, if you're looking for something different and not-too-expensive. If you do a search for "Addictive Sweet Potato Burritos", you'll find it on allrecipes. Definitely a keeper, and pretty easy to make.

Lucy I hate job hunting......I suck at interviews and the more interviews I do that I don'T get the job the more I suck so in this case practice does not make perfect.......I especially hate the interviews when there is a panel of 3 - 5 people asking questions and judging.....don't they get that interviews are so stressful you don't need the extra pressure lol! I like the way government works.....you apply they select like 100 people you go for one round of test if you pass then you get either another round of test (depending on how many passed) or prelimary interview....then the final 10 -5 get the formal interview at least you don't have to worry about testing at that point . I like making over the top big dishes on sundays then there are lunches until Weds . I love my slow cooker would not live with out it!

John - Unemployement does suck I hope it is my last time....I don't want to do the contract thing anymore too stressful and I paid the union for no reason they should send me back my money! I will check out the Sweet Potato Burritos but I will have a hard time convincing my hubby to gove it a try .....he doesn't do sweet potatoes !!!! I really think you should try that dish I made last night! I love it.....it could even be used as toping on a home made Pizza (I use pita bread or a tortillia as the crust!)

This morning was my cheat meal of the week, I was meeting the girls for coffee and muffins before they head to work :) it is so nice to have good friends that want to cheer you up when things are looking down!!!! Also my husbands passport just came in, mine should be in tommorow :) can't wait.....this make the upcomming trip a reality!

Breakfast
Coffee
lemon poppy seed muffin (they put way to much sugar in here :()

lunch
left over from yesterdays diner ( I added Walnuts to my dish last night)

Diner
I want a big salad with a 3oz of chicken baked in home made Salsa with a bit of cheese on top!

Good Morning

Ok well scale said 198.6lb this morning ....I am happy it is moving in the right direction but I was hoping for a full pound at least....oh well next week.....and I know that when very stressed body retains weight more so I will just keep on going. Hopefully I will hear the news I have been waitting to hear today it's been a week since the interview they have to know at this point. Time will tell and I need to work on that patience on mine.....Plus I am still waitting for payement for that little contract I had at the end of August, I needed that money two weeks ago, I wonder how long I have to wait till I start making collect calls......people sure are slow and patient when it isn't their bank account going dry!

Yesterday the dog and I made our walk in record time (we go pick the mail up at the end of the town usually takes us 30 min but not yesterday we did it in 20)

Breakfast
muffin :( the last one
Coffee

Lunch
smoothy

diner
I have to make something with tofu since I thawed it out a few days ago......I will check out what I have at home and make something up! The house is a mess so I gotta go take care of that and then I got a new kick boxing DVD with Jillian so I think I will take it out for a test drive and kick some butt!!!

Glad the scale is moving in the right direction for you! As long as it's moving it's OK that you didn't meet your goal. Just means you need to work harder next week :) Stress definitely does NOT help. But good job on the quick walk! That's a pretty decent time difference.

Got my fingers crossed that you hear good news about work soon.

So I am sitting here after checking my email.....still nothing from the school board.......I have a lead on another possible job...long term temps....so I have to wait and see for yet another job......man my last ei check will come in this tuesday and then no more money I gotta find something and soon!

Urgh your interview format sounds horrible! Most of the interviews I've been to are only one person, the only one where there was more than one is job I have right now. Interviews are never fun, I'm not one to get nervous so I usually do OK but I know a lot of people find them incredibly tough! Hope you find a job soon. Sucks that you have to chase up getting paid too!

Hehe you do what I do, bulk cook up/bake for multiple meals during the week. I love my slow cooker too, makes life so much easier!!!
