Usain Bolt

NB, appreciate the response. My drawn out discussion stems from much more than what you said in this thread. I just have a real beef with people who go around recommending a typical macro percentage splits simply b/c it can lead people astray. And I know this is not what you were doing, I just viewed it as a 'healthy' platform to discuss the topic.

I understand now that you are interested in macro percentage splits if, and only if, you know what they are in the context of the calories consumed too... which in a roundabout way means you're solely interested in absolutes.

Thanks for remaining level headed and detached from the topic.

I'm interested in them either way really. Even if I don't know the cal intake I can still look at the protien:carb ratio which is interesting to me as well.

Ohh, you just had to go there.... lol.

j/k

But you have my interest, so why?

Meh, muscle maintinance through carb/protien intake in accordance with gluconeogenesis.

Homie say wha?

How does percentages without the context of caloric intake tell you anything about muscle maintenance in accordance with glocuneogenesis?

Actually, what do you mean by that?

I agree with aspects of that article, but lets be honest. China was never going to change its policies. Who ever really believed that needs to stop being so naive.

Yea, I agree. China is a rock that has a lot of water that needs to cross it yet before it starts changing appreciable shape.

Sad but true.

I can't wait to see Bolt run in the 4x100 final!

Bolt isn't the first person to be a bit of a showboat... Michael Johnson - the dude with the gold shoes - was one of the biggest show boaters ever...

Track and field seems to have some of the biggest egos around and one of the glamour events of the olympics... I think it's part of the sport... nand the press feeds off it it -

I wouldn't say that Bolt came out of nowhere - Jamaica has produced some very talented track stars... overshadowed perhaps by some of the bigger nations -but they've always been contenders (unless we're talking bobsledding well then - they're just fun :D

I like the 'feel good' stories of the lesser known athletes in lesser known sports that get coverage -the people who are competing against themselves going for personal bests... they however, aren't sexy and don't make big money for the networks...
