Uni/college student... help?

Hey everyone, I'm a 21 year old uni student, and fell into the trap of a couple of disasterous relationships throughout which i stacked on 15 kilos (33 pounds I think?), and I am now desperate to get it back off, and become the fittest and healthiest "me" I can be (which I'm sure is the reason generally everyone is on this site? lol) I've struggled with my weight ALL my life, and when i was 15 i was a massive 95 kilos (209 pounds), dropped to 130 pounds, and now back up to where I am (no good). This site is fantastic because it's about real people reaching achievable goals. I don't want Gwen Stefani abs or anything, just to be back to my fittest state, so I thought it would be a good idea to join up here.

Any thoughts/comments? any other uni/college students in the same position?:biggrinjester:

Congrats!!! Keep up the great work!!

I am 21 also and a college student...I know how hard it can be!!!
I am here if you need any support or encouragement!!

I am slightly older and I am doing postgraduate studies, but same here buddy! I was quite nicely active when I came to uni and then put on about 15 kg. Due to everything, food, not enough sports, no motivation to be thin due to having found a lasting boyfriend...
well now I am 1/3 of the way there... and it feels amazing. I cannot even imagine what I will look like in 26 more pounds... because the difference right now is just enormous!
So I wish you luck, you can do it! And in just few pounds you and others will notice he difference and there is no motivation like feeling and seeing the effects of the weight loss.
So... here is to day 1! Camy

thankyou so so so so much for all the support guys! :D it will be hard, but after only a week of starting a new regime i can feel my metabolism starting to kick in. :smash:

Well, god damn. I just signed to be on the health kick thing just earlier this week. Me and you. Workout buddies (kinda?). Help me help you help help you (mouthful). I'm a college kid with no time to do stuff so I guess step one is prioritizing, been through the rough and tumble of relationships too...time for us to get back on the saddle. Anyways good luck.

I'm a uni student too! I'm in my last year...last semester, actually. So it's pretty tough preparing for exams when I'm obsessed with how much I hate my weight. I put on 25 lbs since beginning uni, with lots of ups and downs, but now i"m not striving to be "skinny" like I used to be. I'm currently trying to lose about 10 lbs to get down to 110 (I'm only 5"2).

Anyway, WOW on getting all the way down from 209!!!

ANyway..see u around!!!

another newbie student here!

hi, i'm also a student and i just joined. since i started uni back in 2005 i've put on about 20 pounds and since then lost and then regained it all (and a little more)! for years i've been unhappy about my weight and just hidden it all and now i have finally got to the point where if i don't do something about it now then i probably never will! So this year will hopefully be the year that i manage to lose the weight and keep it off!

Hopefully joining a forum will help me face up to my issues with my weight and give me some motivation too! :)

Lol wow! Thankyou so much guys! Seems like I'm not the only uni student who has succumbed tot eh "freshman five" (Or 65 as it were... hehe). We can do it though!

It's been 3 weeks now since my last post, and I've only fallen off the wagon a couple of times (soda binges to get me through assignments... hmm...i'm starting to see where all this extra flesh came from?)

Buuut... I've lost 2 kilos (4.4 pounds), which isn't too bad, and I've started up boxing again (I do kickboxing cause you literally kick your own arse right off!), switched to healthy eating... I've lost.... a bra size. No, not a pants size, a bra size. it figures. Oh well,it's gotta start coming off somewhere, right?
