Uneven Chest

My left pec is noticably bigger than my right one. About two years ago, I got off on the wrong foot by relying too much on machines for my chest, and my stronger side picked up the slack and had greater gains than my right one.

It really bothers me because my left pec looks really good, while my right looks greatly undeveloped. I've tried a lot of stuff to remedy it. I know genetics plays a big role in pectoral development, so I don't really expect both pecs to look exactly the same.

I've been using free weights for a year and a half now, and I've seen minimal gains. I change my routine every 2 months, varying the order of exercises and number of repetitions. I've even tried to incorporate drop sets to "shock" my muscles and jumpstart growth. I try to focus on a longer length of contraction at the peak of every rep for more mass.

My routine consists of incline db flyes, incline db press, db flat press, etc. Will cables be of more help to me(ie for isolation)? I want to add more mass and aim for a "fuller" looking right chest. Can anybody help out?

Don't even sweat it man. Just concentrate on spot on form and your chest will even out over time.

I am no expert. In addition to the good form, like everyone suggested,
I would suggest considering dumb-bells instead of the bar.

Reason being, with bar, you automatically use the stronger side more than the weaker side hence it does not help with reducing the imbalance.

With DBells, you can control each side individually.

After seeing no results for weeks, I very recently have reduced the imbalance on my triceps with compund excercises and replacing few excercises.

Good luck!
