UmmStarbucks Venti Iced White Mocha....

Finally back in Cali. Was way to cold the last 6 days in NJ.
Now I can get back to the normal routine, and not have to try to get work outs in a hotel room with elastic bands (Which can work pretty well in a inch I might add).

They must work pretty good, you're down a few more lbs...

Hell I never used one of those work out centers in a hotel ever. I alway wondered why they put them there, I mean did anyone use them? Hot tubs on the other hand... Yup, used one this summer when I went to drop my daughter at school, cuz I was finally doing something and didn't want to wreck the flow...

I was doing yoga in my hotel room while we were in Lawrence Kansas. The other hotels were too small for that. Thankfully they all had exercise rooms.

I had thought about bringing the stretch bands while I was at it, but didn't for some reason.

Welcome back to CA.

This hotel didnt have any exercise rooms, and it was so damm cold out that running was frutile. It was 27 degrees at 4:30 in the afternoon when I left. Hit SFO and it was a nice 68 degrees at 9:15pm.. Ahhh. Thats more like it....

Those bands actually do a pretty good job, as I bought them out there as I had to get some sort of a workout. I also picked up the BodyRev Perfect Pushup, and I have to say I really like them. It takes away most of the wrist stress, and my form is much better.
The bad thing though is that I think I pulled a tendon in my right hand. Heading to the DR tomorrow, as I have a nice lump on my palm. It's turned all my workouts into cardio fests, and situp marathons. Hopefully it's just strained and I'll get something to bring down the swelling, and get it back to normal.
I have been managing to jog\run about 3.5 miles now at lunch in addition to the 2 hours of cardio\situp workouts so I should be able to keep the weight from climbing back up untill my hand is better.

27 degrees? Ewwww... my bones are chilled just thinking about it. Yep, I'm a spoiled Californian. :smilielol5:

Hope your hand feels better soon. That's no fun.

Yea, nice to be in normal weather. But one thing I did notice is that people are generally more friendly then they are here. Everyone seemed really friendly and were much more laid back. Not to say there's not nice people arpund here, just a more general friendy atmosphere there.

So back to the stats. Workouts have been pretty good, though they are more on the cardio side now, as my hand is still screwed up a bit. I've been doing a 3-4 mile jog at lunch and then another 1.5 hours in cardio at the gym along with 30 minutes of strength, just have to lower the weight and do more reps.
As a rant, the whole referral system that the doctors use is such a pita. I still havent received a call back from the hand surgeon to schedule a appointment to get this delt with, and I've called 4 times now. lame, and there isnt another one in the area, I'd have to drive to the East bay. uggh.

Yah, really feel for ya on the weather (not). We had friggin' single digits last week... yes right that would be under 10°F...

Hell, I've commuted to work on my motorcycle in 27° weather...

Uggh Thanksgiving day after effects are in full effect. HAd to roll into the gym today. Probally gained 3 lbs on Thursday, but it was really good. Had Tri-tips and turkey, stuffing, potatoes, grean bean casorole, Yams, and the list goes on and on....
Had to jog an extra 2 miles today on the treadmill just to fell a bit better..

Just remember it's a holiDAY not a holiWEEK. And it only comes once a year. Don't sweat it!

Yep, it's all good. Just had Tahnksgiving on Thursday and my Birthday on Sat, so there was pretty much three days of poor eating. But good news is that I didn't gain anything. :)

Picked up a bodybugg yesterday as they we're on sale at 24 hour fitness for 129.95. So far I have to say this thing is pretty damm cool. I think it will really help me keep track of calories burned throught the day, and (As long as I accurtaly input my food intake) let me know when I need to burn more for the day to keep getting to my goal.

I have been managing to run about three miles every weekday at lunch, and pushed myself up to 4 miles yesterday. I run about a 10 minute mile average, which is pretty good for me at this point. Hopefully that will come down after I lose the next 60 lbs or so :)

I also get a Garmin Forrunner305 for my birthday, which is pretty cool for running or biking, as it tracks where you go, and you can setup gps maps for new runs or bike rides that it will give you directions for. I just ordered the Cadence module for my bike (Was only 25.00) so it will track everything including my heart beat while running or cycleing. Add The bodybugg to that and I feel like a true geek when working out :)

So the bodybugg is just about the greatest thing ever :)
I love this thing, it lets me know exactly how much calories I've burned for the day, and as long as I enter my food correctly, it lets me figure out just where I'm at daily so I dont get off track. Even if I enter my food incorrectly, it will let me know how much I was above or below for the week based on my weekly weigh-in's. It also generates meal plans that I could follow if I felt like it.
On the fitness note, I've finally been able to make it up to where I can run\jog (As my "running" is more like jogging at a 9:40 per mile average) 5 miles at lunch. I'm going to try to get up to 6 which would be really cool, and then work on getting the times down to an 8:30 average, which would be pretty good for my size frame. I'm still hitting the gym at night as well, but have cut back the gym cardio to only an hour, and moved up the strength to a full hour now. I'm halfway through to my goal :)

Friggin awesome Greg, amazing consistency as always!

You know, As hooked as we are on exercise and such now, you ever wonder why we didn't do this shit ages ago? I mean, how did we get fat to begin with dammit?

Halfway there!!!! WOOOHOOOOOOO!!!!

:hurray::hurray::hurray:

Happy Belated Birthday too. :biggrinjester:

Because it seemed that other things were more important? Not caring what we shoved into our faces? Who knows? But hopefully its a lesson we've all learned and won't go down that path again.

I have a good excuse at first for gaining the weight (Leukhemia), but then after I was off the meds there is no excuse. I think I just got used to always being hungry (From the predzinone dosages). But that was just an excuse, as I could and should of changed my diet. But I got setteled into a routine, and then changing jobs from being a 3:00am foods mamanger at Costco Which was a pretty physical job, to going into IT and sitting on my ass didn't help much either.
But it's all good now! Finnaly we've seen the light. There is a Half Marathon on May 3, 2009 in Humboldt, CA in the "Avenue of the Giants" (Which is a huge forest of Redwood trees) for the Leukhemia Society's "Team in training" and I going to do it :)

HAd a crazy run today. Managed to do my 5 miles at lunch, but at first it was just a little bit raining, then about 2 miles into it it started poaring, what the heck Im already wet, just keep going I said...Then three miles into it it started hailing.. Just small hail, but hail still.. I just kept going, and within another 10 minutes I was rewarded with the sky clearing up and a huge rainbow over the bay. It was probally the most fun I've had running in a long time. Although I think it took 4 hours before I could feel my fingers again. I've got to get some cold weather gear.

I had a ride like that this fall. It was nuts, the rain was pouring down and I ended up with my best speed of the season to date.

Good day today, according to the Bodybugg I'm at about a 2300 caloric defecit, and I'm just about ready to go out to the gym in a few to increase that a bit. I managed to run 5 miles at lunch today, but I was feeling pretty un-charged in the legs today, but I knew I wont be able to run tomorow due to a long meeting, so I pushed through it. It's probally good to let them rest a bit anyway.
Oh, and I know you guys dont think 28 is cold, but thats what it is in my backyard right now, and damm, thats pretty damm cold...
