UmmStarbucks Venti Iced White Mocha....

Yea on the cardio numbers, it's all because of my weight. I have noticed that since it's been going down, it takes me longer now to burn the same amount of calories as it did when I was heaver, but it makes sense since lifting that extra 40lbs would equate to more energy needed to burn. But I'll live with that :) The gym time has increased as well now pretty much hitting the 2 hour mark.

Sunday:
potatoes and 2 strips of bacon for breakfast: 550 cal
Ham sandwich with cheese for lunch: 700 cal
pasta with turkey and red sauce and bread: 950 cal
yougart: 220 cal
Total cal: 2420 :(
Gym: 100 minutes cardio (-1506 cal 7.2 miles) 25 min of strength.
Also, went on a small bike ride with my daughter for about an hour so that should help a little.

Its amazing how quickly those calories can add up some times.

Can I make a couple suggestions?

I like the Weight Watchers yogurt... only 100 calories, and they've got some pretty good flavors.

Maybe if you're going to eat pasta, omit the bread. Especially if you end up putting butter on it, or its garlic bread. Or maybe cut the amount of pasta to about 1/3 of what you would normally eat, and add in some steamed zucchini, or quickly saute the zucchini with a little olive oil. Have a little bread so you don't feel deprived.

How were the potatoes with your breakfast prepared? How about half the potatoes you normally have, and have some fresh fruit instead? I can't say cut out the bacon entirely, because I'll have a couple slices on a Sunday with my eggs. I trim off as much of the fat as I can, and I microwave it instead of cooking it in the skillet. That way its not cooking in its own grease, and the grease doesn't start forming nitrates that can be bad for you. There's bacon trays you can use in the microwave, just cover it with a paper towel so it doesn't splatter all over the place. Start with roughly 1 minute a slice and add from there. Be careful though, it can overcook really quick.

These are just some of the things I've been doing, so I thought I'd pass them along.

Hope you are having a good Monday!

Yea, the site is back up.

Ok, so Im behind in posting all the days, but it;'s been a goood week so far.
I actually did 130 minutes of cardio last night and finaly broke the 11 mile mark, which was cool, and almost got to the -2000 calarie burn (came to -1956 on the screen) though I'm not really sure how accurate the calorie burn meter on the machines are? My legs felt like jello after though :)

Phoenyx, the fruit is a good idea, and normally I only have a yougart for breakfast, but my daughter made it for me (breakfast in bed) so I really couldnt refuse :) The weight watchers yougarts are pretty good too, but some of the new flavors in the youplait are really screaming good. I like the thick fat free style key lime pie (110 cal). yummy :)

It was on the eliptical. My legs were jello after, but felt good today. Funny my quads are in great shape, just need to get the belly and upper legs in-line with them. My goal is to do the Leukhemia society "team in training" half marathon next year. I figure as they helped me a ton when I had leukhemia a few years ago, it's time to pay it back :)

Today was ok food wise:
Brek: 1 yougart 110 cal
Lunch: 2 slice ham, 1 slice of cheese and a pickle *(no bread) 350 cal
Dinner: 2 slices combo pizza: 1100 calories (I did save half of it till after I worked out, so not quite as bad.
1 cup of iced coffee: 285 cal
Total cal: 1845

Gym: 100 minutes on the eliptical: (-1541 cal) and the 1 hour strength. So I figure I should be in the negetive for calories today.
Man, my energy level is so much higher than a few months ago. Bouncing around the house like a teenager sometimes. :)

My weight has been stable for the past week or so, but I dropped a pants size so thats good.

Best of luck with that half marathon. it sounds like a great idea. are you going to start doing more on the treadmil instead of the eliptical machine to get ready for that?
Good to hear that even though your weight isn't shifting, the inches are. I'd rather fit in a smaller pants size than weigh 5 lbs less, so rock on Greg. you're doing great, keep it up!!
Ciao Bello!

About those hotties in my diary Greg...

What do you call the lovely lady right above me here...:drool5:

You know I found her in your journal and followed her over to hers, couldn't let you keep her to yourself now could I?

True dat :)
There is actually a few in here :)

So since my gym dosent have a treadmill (The one right by my house is a 24-hour loop, so it's a circuit course) I decided to try to start running\jogging\walking\crawling on my lunch hour. Holy crap thats so much more of a workout. I did manage to get about 3.2 miles in about 35 minutes which was jog>>>walk a bit>>run\jog>>>walk some more, etc. Wow do my calfs and thighs burn right now. I did manage to get to the gym and do 100 minutes of cardio on the crosstrainer, but that thing seems like a toy now. I figure if I do both still along with the strength\circuit course I'll be in great shape in another 8 months or so, as that would be 3 hours or so almost a day. As it is, I'm really close to the -50lbs mark right now. Probally in another week or so hopefully :)

Happy Holloween everyone!

wow, 3 miles! I'd be dead at the end of that. the only time I run is if I'm being chased or if I'm trail running. bravo! you'll hit that 50 lbs mark soon enough.

Yeah Greg, you are cruising to some serious losses here. I'm thinking if I don't up my game here, You'll be catching up to me (not that that is bad - for you). My hat is off to you on the elliptical though, I can't stand 'em.

I'm trying. The elicptical is pretty boaring, and I wish they had a treadmill instead. But I did 126 minutes of it tonight for a -1932 caloric burn and another 35 minutes of strength. I know I should reverse it and do more strength and less cardio, but I literally zone out on the cardio listing to my music and time flys by, were as on the strength, I'm in constant pain..lol
I'm also trying a protein muscle complex called NST Muscle complex for after working out. Im hoping it will help me burn less muscle tissue in the regeneration process and reduce catabolism while Im sleeping since If I take it after I work out it's also right before I goto bed, so killing two birds with one stone so to speak. My goal is to have abs like our Shandy girl :drool5:

Aw, glad I could be your goal. Though truth be told, you're my goal with cardio. I still can't make it past the first hour unless I'm bellydancing, and even then I never make it past 90 minutes. by that point my legs want to just fall off. :ack2:

Yea, mine just sort of go into a whatever state and just keep going. When I was much younger and in really good shape I could run a mile in about 6:05 on average (I think my fastet time was 5:42, but I was 6'3" and 175lbs, wearing a size 30, almost rail skinny back then) and I ran cross-country in HS and collage. I was never really bing on the weights though. But I have a body frame now that would probally do better with hitting the strength vs cardio.

So this week I started the jogging everyday at lunch for 3.2 miles, but kept everything else the same. And gained 2 lbs... Uggh. Hopefully it's all muscle maybe.... we'll see how it goes by next week. I got a trip to NJ next week for work, so my routine will be slightly modified and I dont want to be up in weight before that as expense'd lunches and dinner tends to be more than I normally would eat. But heading to the gym now and will have to burn a few extra calories off tonight to compensate :)

Did pretty good this week. I was able to jog every day at lunch for three miles. And still made it to the gym, but this weekend will be time to rest as my calvas are freaking killing me. :)
Happy weekend all!
