HI! I'm new around here! I was looking at all the before and after pictures on here and I am very shocked and surprised that weight loss IS NOT IMPOSSIBLE!

I am so open for all the advice anyone can give me:drool5:! I read some of your weight loss stories on here and they just motivated me even more. I can't believe the determination and will power that goes into this website. It's so full of energy! I am so ready to start my transformation. Please, please, please share any advice you have learned along the way. I am open ears!

Thanks for reading this. I plan on posting pictures when I lose my first 10 LBS.

I plan to do strength training to burn fat and aerobics to warm up and cool down.

Q: Is strength training quicker at burning fat than cardiovascular exercises?

Hey and welcome!

I'm no expert but as to your question..in the long run, I believe strength training is better at burning fat, especially if you lessen your cardiovascular workout. When you do cardio, you burn a lot of calories doing it. If you stop doing cardio you don't burn those calories. But if you build enough muscles, they burn calories no matter what you're doing. In the short run I'd say cardio, but I think the ideal is try to balance both.
As for advice, read through the stickied posts in the nutrition and exercise sections.
