I guess I missed this show first time around but just saw the re-run last night. I had a totally different reaction to it than you guys. While I thought it was very sad that the two anorexic women seemed in denial of the health risks they were facing by starving themselves...I thought it equally sad that the two very overweight women (plus size model and eating disorder author) on the panel seemed equally in denial of the health risks they were facing by their attitudes of "I'm curvy".
Sorry, but while it's important to not base our entire sense of self worth and acceptance based on size (great or small), I just think it's equally important to recognize that obesity is more than a matter of being "curvy", it's a significant health risk and just because it's more common for the average woman to be overweight or even obese than truly (in the clinical sense) anorexic, does not make it less of a problem to be addressed.
