two times a week or six times a week?

I tend to switch up my running from week to week... and I'm now wondering if there is really a difference between doing a week with a run 6 days of the week twenty minutes each... or doing two runs a week of an hour each.

Both are easily manageable for me, I don't feel tired or sore the next day when I run for an hour, and I feel like I can run 20 minutes everyday just fine. I get the same distance out of both methods, and same amount of running time. Is there really a difference as to how I approach the week? Will one help me lose weight more effectively?

Either method could work well for you or anyone else depending on body type.

I think if losing weight is your goal, then to just run a few days a week could lead you to a dead end eventually. Have you thought about mixing it up??

There's so many activities that are good for fitness and weight loss:

Running, swimming, skipping, most sports, any type of machines (rowing, running, stepper, cross trainer etc)

What your doing at the moment is SS training, have you thought about HIIT? this is definately something you should consider as it could very much improve the rate and success of your weight loss.

If running is your thing, how about doing 1 minute spriting, 2 mins jogging... then same again.. and so on for 30 mnis for 3 days a week?

Persoanlly, I think people should do at least some for of light exercise nearly everyday, but for a main session of cardio, running, weight training etc, this shold be done 3 - 4 days a week max.

good luck

Thanks, I've never looked into it, but I just found some information, and it all seems to be more towards what I'm looking for. Just curious.. would 1 minute running, 1 minute walking be fine... or should it be more of a pyramid structure

I would say to run twice a week and do some other form of exercise your other workout days. Running is wonderful exercise and a great stress reliever but your body needs plenty of time to rest. Doing lower-impact cardio or weights can stretch those tired muscles without putting a strain on them.

I would agree with CaseyAtMartin and that you should introduce some decent resistance training into your programme, if you don't have access to weights or a gym there are plenty of body weight exercises that you can do
