Trying to Losing Weight in Japan

Hello everyone!

I just registered and wanted to introduce myself. I am 26 and from Ontario, Canada. I’ve been living in Japan for the last 7 months teaching English. Also I’ve been overweight my entire life and have had many weight loss successes. The only problem is that these loses are always followed by gains. Currently I am living in what most call the healthiest country in the world. However I was easily able to maintain my 260 lbs for the first six months I was here. Now I want to get healthy. I feel like I am wasting such a valuable resource by being in Japan and not finding out how these people stay so fit! I have lost 22.5 lbs since January 25th and am motivated to keep going.

My goal this time around is not so much about the weight loss but more so about keeping it off. I've tried something new this time too.....blogging! I find it so helpful. It keeps me accountable to myself and let's me write about stuff I've always thought about but never had to put into words.

I look forward to reading the forums here! Thanks for having me!
