trying to lose

hey i am 21 yrs old this last yr all my pants have become too tight

its frustrating cuz i am in school and am broke and cannot afford a gym membership

b4 this yr i worked out for 5 yrs

now i just dont have the money

in a few monthe si will be working and one of my first investments will be that gym membership but until then im trying to lose weight


ive tried to eat around 1700 cals a day


also i have tried to put my easting while watching tv to a hault



some times i achieve these goals and i love it !


its been 2 monthes and people say they have mnoticed differences


but days when i dont achieve my goals i just binge and eat for the sake of eating


i messed up 3 days ago so these past 3 days ive just given up


so i joined this site for support


so when i make mistakes maybe u guys can help me feel pay about ti and help me get back on track

well firstly - forget the whole 'i cant exercise because i cant afford a gym' thing.
Get out and walk or bike or skip or something!

secondly, messing up one day with one binge only means you wont loose weight, it doesnt mean you will gain weight at all (other than the temporary weight of the food). There are several binge eaters on the forum who have sucessfully lost weight and had to cope with binges once a week or so. They are working on the causes and trying to stop the binges, but its not stopping them from loosing the weight at all :)

Exercise raises the metabolism, makes ya feel good. try taking up a sport to make it more fun :)

yah i dunno i was an avid gym goer from age 15 to 20... i just cant get motivated to work out at home .... im getting a gym membership in 50 days .. i walk to and from school everyday so i walk about 45 min a day.(i know its not much)

my old jeans were size 28 and now they r so tight :(
 
my biggest problem is getting down on myself when i have a bad day ....

i jus need support so that I don't let one bad day let me down and effect my actions
 
I am not a college student,just a mother of 6! LOL I also struggle with motivation. Especially when your down in the dumps! Just remember it is going to take effort. We need to work together.start out with a 10 min workout and build yourself up to a longer workout every day or week. I have noticed its a matter of just getting yourself toether and just doing it. its easier said then done. I know...Its alot easier if we find someone that has a weight issue also and get a daily/weekly plan together. do you have someone that can stand by your side?
 
It is really hard to stay motivated. But this is a great place to get recharged! I started walking almost everyday 2+ miles a day. I am now up to 3. I wanted to make the most of the walks I took so I purchased ankle weights. I figure that it will help me ton and get more out of the walks. You also may want to try jump roping. It kills!!! But you know you have done something.

I was a size 28 and just by walking 42 minutes a day, almost every day, I have lost about 47 pounds.. I just calculated ..just from walking and sometimes I walk quickly ..and other times I jaunt ..but walking for 45 minutes is a big accomplishments ..kudos to you ..

now I am in a size 24 and these jeans are getting too big on me ..it took me a year to get down to my current weight of 273.8

I binge often...and I used to get down on myself ..even last week I did ..but I know I can stop binging most of the time .. I am a food addict and eat out off emotion ..may it be frustration, anger, rebellion, sadnes, depression, happy, celbration ..all kind of reasons ... I will always be a food addict ... its the way it is ... behaviors are hard to change ..and I will always have them

but one thing you might want to try is asking yourself ..be mindful ..when you get to the fridge ..and think about how harmful that extra food will be ..think of what you would look like at the weight you want to be ..write your goals down ... think positive as hard as it is ..and you dont need a gym membership to lose weight ..just a little groove and this support ..I would still be 300 pounds if it hadnt been for this forum ..create a diary ..and peeps will check in on you and on your bad and good days we will write and support you ..

well i mean 28 inches (size 6)

now i am like size 9 .....but natalie your advice was really good i know what i need to stop tho

the tv and food thing it needs to stop
from now on......... from this second on.. no more eating n front of the tv for me
