Trying to lose weight - Need help and advice.

Steve: I liked what you said in your sticky. The information in the sticky is a bit different than what you had posted, and that was the source of the disagreement. With lower weight and more repetitions to learn form and balance, those types of compound movements can be introduced in the beginning of a program, as you have explained.

Philosophically I disagree with your program design. However, anyone following your advice will do well; I don't see any gaps in your knowledge whatsoever. It seems like you have helped a lot of people here overcome the multitude of misconceptions that exist in the exercise and diet world today.

Appreciate the response.... was worried you were going to take offense!

The information in the stickie isn't different. It's simply more thorough. Can't write a book every post. However, certainly could have elaborated on this one.

I'd be interested in hearing what you 'philosophically disagree' with, just for discussion.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Thansk for all the replies. I've actually been fighting the flu since my last post. The reason i can not military press with a barbell is when i reach up to get the bar off of the holders if forces my shoulder to an angle where it slips outs. I have had the surgery but the problem is that my first dilocation was so bad that i actually shaved some of the bone off. If i didn't have to reach up and back to get the bar off i could do it.

What does everyone recommend about cardio? What is the best running/walking/elliptical? How long should i do it for? I would really like to start getting some weight off. Thanks!
