Trying to loose post baby weight

I'm a 32 year old who gave birth to a beautiful baby boy last May. I still have about 25 pounds to loose to reach my pre-pregnancy weight.. While I'm at it, I would like to loose an extra 15 pounds that I accumulated over the last 5-6 years. I've been procastinating a lot but it's time that I do something about the excess weight. I want to feel good about myself and be able to wear all the pre-pregnancy clothes again.......

Hoping to find a lot of support here. I need to find the motivation to help me stick with it.........Looking forward to chatting with you..

Well this is a good place to find motivation! I can't help you with the baby weight deal, since I've never had a child, but I know there is a forum just for mommies =)

Hello and welcome to the forum...I am in the process of losing my post baby weight as well, so we can keep each other motivated :)

first of all, congratulations on the baby boy! I've got 2 girls. and while I won't say losing the baby weight is easy(cuz it's not), I will say it IS possible. I'm working on losing the last 12 lbs this time around, and managed to get within 5lbs of my pre-preg weight with my first. If at any point you have a question or just want to talk about mommy-hood, shoot me a message. I love talking!

Welcome to the forum, I'm sure you'll find a lot of information, motivation, and support!:waving:

Congrats on being a new mom :) I just wanted to say hello and wish you success. There's alot of great info in the stickies thread if you have time. Also you may have seen it already but there's a journal thread where you can start your own journal if you want to and also the "before & after" section is very inspiring. Welcome to the forum ~Lisa

Thank you gals...I wasn't really sure if anyone would even read my post but seeing your responses makes me want to believe that I'll have the support I said I need. I was very slim my entire life and wasn't a big eater. Then, somehow I started eating bigger portions and getting lazier with every pound I put on....The weight gained during pregnancy is the biggest jump in weight...

I heard a lot of people say that since it's been 15 months after my son's birth, it'll be lot more difficult to loose the extra weight. Hopefully, that's not true... I've started being conscious of what I'm eating since yesterday and I want to start exercising a little...hopefully, I can pick up the pace within the next few days..

Did any of you use Slim in 6 and if yes, does it work? Please let me know...

first of all, losing weight is work no matter how recently you've given birth. it all depends on how much effort you're willing to put into it. my daughter is 15 months old today, and I'm still working on losing the last bit. but it IS possible, I promise.
as far as the slim in 6, a buddy of mine used that with mixed results. of course she wasn't really doing anything BUT that(no watching what she was eating and such). so of course she wasn't going to have much luck.

Hey no beatin yourself up :) Change is hard and scary. One of our moderators always says pick one thing at a time, set your goal and once you're doin that then add in something else. I've always thought it's great advice. I tend to be "all or nothing" so that advice has really helped me. Also if you haven't checked it out yet fitday.com and also sparkpeople have some great tools where you can just plug your food in and it tracks all your cals and other nutrients, pretty easy.

Anyway have you decided whether you want to start a journal here? I hope so, then we have somewhere to come chat with you and cheer you on :) Good luck ~Lisa
