trying to get healthy

I am new here. I have had fluctuating weight for ten years now and I want to get thin again and be healthy. I want to be able to jog a mile again. I am a single mom, 31 years old, with a 10 year old daughter. I put on 40 lbs when I was pregnant and have been on the yo-yo since. I live in the New Orleans metro area.

I have started working out again - some yoga and plenty of cardio. I am also using the food journal method. It really does make you eat healtheir when you run out of calories at lunch! You realize how you're eating and what you're eating. I just put calorie king on my PDA and it keeps track of weight, calories, exercise etc. It really helps you realize what you are doing/eating/not doing.

I am pretty much just starting - I'm 5'1, 184 lbs. My all time high was 209 and my goal weight is 115 lbs. I have a small frame. My all time low was 95 lbs but that was toooo thin. I look thin but healthy at 115 lbs. I weighed 117 lbs when I got pregnant and would be happy anywhere between 115 and 120 but I'd like to be at 115 lbs.
 
Welcome to the forums! I live in River Ridge, neighbor! New Orleans is a tough place to lose weight, isn't it? This is a great place for inspiration. I've lost 75 lbs now. Still trying to lower my BMI... it's hovering in the 24 range.
