Hi everyone, I'm Jamie...22 years old and I have a baby girl who is 17 months old. I have been trying to lose 30 pounds now for about 3 years!:banghead: I just have NO motivation...it's hard but I just can't seem to stick to a 'diet plan' for more then a week or two!!! So I just wanted to introduce myself and hopefully find people here that can motivate me and help me succeed this time around! THANKS!!!!:blush5:

Motivation is what gets you through the first week or two, tops. Nobody gets past that point through motivation alone. You just have to develop the right habits. Focus on making a few small changes and sticking to them for 30 days to start. Develop a routine. Only weigh yourself once a week, tops. Weight-loss might be the ultimate goal, but you'll only get there through long-term lifestyle changes, so don't fixate on the fluctuations that happen from day to day.

Of course, I'm a n00b. Maybe a seasoned member should weigh-in?

Welcome :)
You Know, sometimes it isnt even enough to be MOTIVATED after a while... it fluctuates. lol Its one of those push through things (man don't I know it ahah) It helps if you have some sense of goal all around you all the time and be prepared... whether its preparing things in advance so you have no excuse or breaking things into completely SMALL tasks to get to your big one... Its a journey BUT I know it will be worth it, its a way of life. Keep us updated :) I know I enjoy hearing from people even if its if u feel discouraged that day THATS when you need to push through the most. LOL Maybe your baby (shes precious by the way) would want to join and make it fun :) Excercise and moderation is key, (even yoga and pilates on my I just CAN't do this days) but restriction is like killing myself. and by the by diets don't work for me... They make me angry lol. I just eat what I need have to in moderation, Im going back to my small meals through out the day so it feels like im always fed.

My Diary was started months ago, it has some of the fitness stuff I use...Its a struggle Im telling you, but if you can see yourself how you truly want to be, it will be done. the link should be at the bottom

GOOD LUCK :)

Hi Thicky,

welcome, I am available if you would like to talk... I was at 312 and currently weigh 225....
When you have a desire to eat, are you really hungry? Other factors can make you feel like you want to eat, including feeling sad or lonely, the time of day, craving certain foods, or being thirsty.

THINK ABOUT IT...................

With my personal Plan and Journey I eat 5/6 Mini Meals per day. I dont ever really feel hungry unless I am NOT drinking my water!

I always grab a bottle/glass of water before eating.

This has really helped my Journey and I bet it will help yours....

I've always had a hard time sticking with preconceived diets too. They just plain never worked for me. It's hard to stick to the same foods over and over again. The ultimate goal is to find a healthy routine that does not make you feel like you are torturing yourself. I also found that keeping extremely busy is the key for me! I figure if I keep busy enough I am not going to eat so many snacks all the time like I used to. That's the nice thing about my job now...it keeps me so occupied all day that I don't get the munchies and if I do I don't have much time to do anything about it lol.

I've found that when I get bored I find it too easy to open up a bag of chips and pig out. I agree with everything hawgdaddy said about water. Keep extremely hydrated. I make it my goal on a daily basis to drink at least 4 1 ltr. bottles of water. Yes, unfortunately you end up visiting the washroom more than usual at first but you get used to it after awhile.

Also I now avoid pop like the plague...that was my number 1 nemesis which after defeating I felt so much better!
