trying something new

Well,

I live in the Bahamas. Started my weight loss in January of this year. I lost
10 pounds since then. Nothing more. Sort of abandoned my 50 pound goal, but after seeing a post by wildhorses, was totally inspired! This is new for me, I don't quite understand how this posting thing works or how to find what I'm looking for -which is more inspirational stories and photos.

Hi bahamama, *love the nick, i just want to keep saying it..lol* Congrats on the first ten pounds of your weight loss journey, good for you! This is a great place for inspiration and support, I have been on here for a while, but disappeared for a while, and i have noticed for myself, just keeping a diary and writing about my ups and downs really helps. I definitely do better when i stay here because the forum is a wealth of information that is eagerly shared by people back and forth. Its finding what works best for you.
So, i just wanted to send you a hello and wish you much support on reaching your goals
Michelle

10 pounds is 10 pounds! 2 steps forward, 1 step back, 2 steps forward, 1 step back........still makes you 2 steps ahead!

I'm new also and find the board somewhat confusing. I think just browsing and making a few replies and posts here and there may be a good way to start.

I also found this board totally inspiring. I'm kind of starting back on a better routine from this morning with a longer walk, smaller breakfast etc....
I'm also cooking a nice big pot of chili beans in a pureed vegetable sauce. I love beans and I find when I eat them I eat much less of everything else because I feel full alot longer.

Keep it up Bahama!

Thank you!
I feel so welcome already. I just got back from a party - I didn't overeat. I was contemplating a snack before bed (after all the drinks) but checked in here instead.

Kept me on track. Thanks guys.

Hello bahamamama. Best suggestion is to go over to the diary section and start yourself a diary there. That way people can come in and visit you at "your place", where you can log food, exercise, rant whatever you want.

Search around, check out the posts, replay to a few people's diaries. Read the sticky comments. You're welcome over at "my place" too.

And all your goals are doable if you set your sights and don't get discouraged if you fall now and again.
