Trying....again!!!

Hi everyone

Kitty here! I joined back in October of 2008 and I'm here again! Seems like October is the month that I really want to lose weight! :rotflmao:

I successfully lost 70 lbs. on my own doing low carb, and exercise back in 2003. Highest weight was 263ish lbs. and was down to 193 lbs within 1 year. I've slowly gained weight back and sort of yo-yo'd since then. Back up to a high of 245 lbs, to low of 205 lbs. I'm currently at 237lbs. :(

Anyways, I need to try a go at it again. I'm not getting any younger and thinking that kids on of these days would be a good idea. Both me and my husband would like to lose some weight first. We both weigh about the same right now, so we'll see who loses more first/faster! LOL!!

I'm planning on doing what I did before when I lost weight, just not giving up after I thought I was happy where I was (what did I think, it would stay off while I did nothing???!!!).

I hope I get to know you all well through our journeys!!!

Kitty! :newbie:

Isn't it hard to stay on track after weight loss? I can go years doing everything just right and being happy with the way I look and even after that I can fall off track and end back up in that unsatisfying place I dred. It sucks, we really do have to make a life long effort to continuously focus on living healthy life styles but isn't it true that looking in the mirror that thinking your body looks rockin is a waaaay better feeling than over eating?

Welcome Back

I'm a new member also and I'm getting a lot of support from this forum. I hope you're able to receive the same. I love chatting with others about weight loss and nutrition lifestyle changes. I don't believe in D.I.E.Ts because you’re Doing It Every Time. You have to look at it as a lifestyle change instead. You seem to already achieved one of the goals and found a work out buddy - your husband. Achieving your goal with your husband should make the lifestyle change much easier. I lost 60 pounds after my pregnancy and still working on it. I didn't do it through drastic diets. I had to evaluate my eating habits. I immediately purchased a journal and started writing down everything I ate for the first week. Wrote down some small goals and kept plugging away. Don't expect it to disappear overnight because it didn't appear overnight. Take small steps and you’ll achieve your goals. Small steps maybe just changing your portion size; eat half of what you usually and mix it with exercise and you’ll see change. Good luck to you and your husband.

Thanks guys!! I hope to get lots of support here and hopefully be able to give some as well. AND hoping I can post some before and after pictures at some point that can be inspiration for someone else! LOL!
