Trying again....again

Awesome job with the HIIT routines!

Don't give up! You're doing well. On days where you feel like you only put in "22 minutes" it's better then doing nothing. Awesome job on the salads and cutting out regular soda :)

Again...don't give up. You're well on the way :)

10.23.08

Hey guys, thanks! I appreciate the support. :)

I didn't work out today at all, as I was super busy. Food choices weren't great, but I think I'm PMSing. Ugh. Of course, that could be why my pants feel snug and why I'm not losing weight.

Looking forward to getting back on the treadmill for another HIIT session tomorrow. :) I will do a full 25-30 mins on the machine tomorrow. NO EXCUSES!

Hope you all had a good day! Good night!

Hi Trying Again!! Wow you are doing awesome with the HIIT workouts!! I hear those are absolutely killer! Don't give up on the healthy life style, just stick with it and you WILL see results, and you will be so happy when you do :) Keep up the great work!

10.24.08

Hi SexierMe! Thanks for stopping in!

I know I can do this. I've done it before and I did see results. Unfortunately, I was focusing too much on certain things and I think that's part of the reason I stopped.

Today will consist of treadmill for 25-30 mins (20 mins of HIIT) and possibly some strength training and definitely some barn chores! I also plan on eating better today, too.

10.24.08 con't

Well, I didn't get a full cardio workout in today. I ran out of time, but I did do about 17 mins on the treadmill, so I got that in. It's one more session than I had last week! That makes me happy! I plan on doing some strength training later today.

Food wise, not so good. I had:

B: blueberry muffin
L: 2 hot dogs
S: pringles, oreos, soda

So yeah....not a good food day. But again....I'm PMSing. I know - it's an excuse, but too bad. It's all I got. LOL

I use PMS as an excuse too. I'm not a huge chocolate eater but during that time, I like some chocolate, so I made brownies last nite. haha.

SOME exercise is better than none!!

:iagree: PMSing is a good reason to do less than stellar. and hey, you got 17 minutes more than a lot of women would do during TOM. so bravo!!!:hurray:

I totally hear you on the PMS'ing. Although I haven't experienced that yet (at least I don't think so haha) I do know that when it's my TOM I crave junk food more than I normally would if it wasn't my TOM, (which I am on now, but have controlled my junk food cravings) so just get back on the wagon gurl, today is a new day :)

Agreed, but you also can't step on the scale and reasonably expect progress either, sadly enough. I wish it were otherwise, but that's the way it is.

Yeah, I know....a girl can wish, though, right? LOL

(Nice to see you! ;) )

Sexierme: I agree with that. I definitely crave junk when it's my TOM.

Today's food:

Blueberry muffin, diet soda

Yeah, I know....not good. I got up late, had to work, and didn't have time to stop for anything. Literally! No workout for me today, although I may end up doing some ST (strength training) later on.

10.26.08

Did some ST last night and it felt good! Abs and legs were on the agenda and I'm glad I made myself do it. My thighs are already feeling stronger again. I can look down at my thighs and to me they look more muscular. Makes me happy. :)

Right now, I'm feeling like a big bloated whale. Not only did AF ("Auntie Flow") arrive last night I ate so much for breakfast I think I may hurl. Here's what breakfast consisted of:

3 hard boiled eggs, 4 slices bacon, 1c of home fries, 8oz milk.

Yeah....I know....bacon and homefries....not the best choice. And not to make excuses, but Sundays are usually the day where we have a big family breakfast made by my hubby, so I do have some stuff. I didnt have french toast, though. I'm guessing that was a wise choice, but not sure.

So any way.....I've got a house to clean and we wanted to do something as a family, so that's on the agenda. Of course, feeling like I do, all I want to do is crawl back into bed and die. LOL

I still hold firm to the fact that PMS and TOM negate some bad food choices. I'm horrible with big sunday breakfasts. I swear I eat so much I'm surprised I can stand up afterwards. :blush5:
Good to hear you had a good ST session. I need to get back in gear with my weights. I've been slacking off a lot.
Hope you have fun with your family time.
Take care

Thanks Shandy! Today's food choices were pretty....bad. Here we go (minus breakfast, cuz u already know what I ate):

L: pringles, pepsi, candy corn
D: BLT, 8oz milk

Yeah...see? Ugh. Getting back on it tomorrow!

Family time was good, but disappointing, too. spent more $ than we should have for pumpkins and ended up at hubby's grandmother's house where he disappeared to go into the woods to look for his deer camera....and left me there with kids for about 2 hrs - which he swore he wouldnt' do. Ugh. BUT I did get to see my sis in law whom I haven't seen in months. I was glad I got to see her. I miss her.

Fat Loss

If you really want to drop weight - make sure the following are in order:

Diet - Diet accounts for 80%-90% of your results. Sixpack abs are made in the kitchen, not the gym.

Sleep - Getting enough sleep helps the body repair itself, as well as clearing out nasties like stress.

Water - Keeping your electrolytes balanced, as well as cleaning out sodium and other residues will help you not retain as much fluids, which, again, brings weight down.

NEAT - Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis, or to put it another way - getting off your butt and moving around. If you work out an hour a day for 5 days a week, that's 5 total hours out of the week you spend exercising. What do you do with the rest of the hours in your day?

Working Out - Working out has very little to do with fat loss, especially so if the other items on this list aren't spot on. Yes, it helps you burn calories, but not putting the calories on in the first place, hydration, resting and repairing, and just moving around in general will do far more for your waistline. Where working out comes into its own is in terms of body improvements - muscles, bones and the like as the only way to really improve it is to use it.

All that said, your diet remains your weakest point. If you're going to concentrate on anything, concentrate on that first. If you do that I think the success you'll see will spur you on to address the other four. Keep on fighting the good fight.

10.27.08

Hi Tom, thanks for the info! As you know, that has always been my weakest point - food choices. I am trying. Believe me!

Today's intake:

L: salad with chicken, diet pepsi
S: diet pepsi, smartees (don't go there)
D: cheeseburgers, salad, milk

I also did about 20 mins on the treadmill, including about 15 mins of HIIT. I then went to the barn and did stalls and walked up and down a hill about 4 times to bring horses up and down to the pasture. I also rode today.

That said....I feel huge today.

"Eating Clean" is easier said than done. We are all human, and sometimes temptation just gets the best of us. I definitely speak that from experience. Looks like your doing really good Trying Again, just keep up the good work and you'll be finding yourself a groove in no time :)

10.29.08

Well, I had an AMAZING workout today. It was only about 22 mins, but I really pushed hard and it felt great. Had a very yummy salad for lunch afterwards and a diet soda. I was fine until about 3 hrs later the Wed lesson kids had a snack time and all that was there were cookies and cupcakes. I had 2 shortbread cookies and a choc chip cookie. Ugh. Dinner was spaghetti, one slice bread, and milk....and then ice cream with choc sauce.

Tom, as for eating clean just for one day....I know I can do it as I have done it before. And not to make excuses, but I'm really busy now and when I need food on the run, well, let's just say sometimes it's not pretty. LOL I am trying though, I'm more aware of what I put into my body and I'm working out again, so it has to be positive, right?

Sexierme, yeah, those cravings and temptations kill us, don't they? And I'm not one for complete deprivation. I think it's stupid. If you want it, you shoudl have it - IN MODERATION. And that's the key, isn't it? My problem is when I start, I tend to keep on, so before I know it, I've eaten too much of what I shouldn't and too little of what I should.

Either way, I'm really happy with my workout today. Hubby says that my thighs are looking better already - hopefully the muscular look is coming back fast bc of the hard work I put in a while ago, and the running/hiking/walking I'm doing now. I have to get more ST in, though - more abs, more arms, more of it.

Overall, I'm happy with myself. No, I may not look like Calista Flockhart, but who wants to be that skinny, anyway? My best friend says that I'm "not ill skinny, but a healthy looking vibrant woman". That is a nice thing. That really makes me happy.
