Hi Everyone,

I have decided to give Cohens another go. I previously achieved great results first time round, but certain events and stresses of life got in the way of maintaining my results. I hope to achieve even better results second time round and maintain my goal weight. I have approx 30-40 kilos to lose, feels like heaps, but i know it wont take long if i follow Cohens 110%. For the last 4 weeks ive been doing personal training, so i hope this will speed up my weight loss. I have lost 3 kilos so far, which is great through exercise and 1/2 following Cohens.

Its nice to read everyones entries, its quite inspirational. So thanks :)

Also, how do you attach a weight loss ticker to a thread?

Hi Chanty86,
Welcome. I am also on my 2nd time around and having wonderful success so far. I had a bit more than you to lose when I started back on (46kg), but so far I'm down 18.5gs in just 9 weeks.
To attach the ticker:
1. Click on anyones ticker and this will take you to the ticker factory.
2. Create your ticker and then copy the "BB Code"
3. Go back to the forum and in the top left hand corner you will see "User CP".
4. Once in user CP you will see "edit signature"
5. Paste the BB code in here and save and your ticker should appear on all your posts.
When you need to change you just go into ticker factory and update your weight data and it should automatically change your ticker on your posts.

Hope this helps and good luck
Beck

Hi Chanty, Are you still about? Hope all's good with you. Brrrr it's cold here in Tassie today. Come on Summer, cheers, Cate.

Hey Cate,

How are you?

Tazzy would be freezing. It has some beautiful walking places, mountains etc. Perths weather has been pretty crappy lately, its hard to motivate myself to go for a walk. Least i have personal training and the gym, i did a spin class today and found out it burns up to 800 calories in the 45minutes, thats my entire net calories for the day, crazy. Dont think ill do spin, until im on refeed.

On a positive note, cold weather has some good points (as much as i hate it), we burn more calories in winter as our bodies are trying to keep warm.

I weigh in on tuesday, so i hope its a nice loss. If not least i know my fat % is going down and cms are coming off. Last time i did cohens i didnt enjoy exercise, so the kilos came off really quick. My first loss last time was 5.7 kilos in a week.

Now its quite slow, but i enjoy exercise and im adding in resistance training with my cardio so im building muscle which should eventually boost my metabolism. So, in the long run it should have big benifits.

Anyways, ill stop blabbering on. I hope you have a lovely weekend.

Your an inspiration, hope i can be successful with my weight loss again like you. You too bec 18.5 kilos in 9 weeks is massive.

Chantale :)

Good to hear you're doing well. 800cals in 45 minutes! OMG! I would have been starving or have fainted I think on the original program if I had tried anything like that. Life's all about balance & that's one of the hardest things to achieve. You sound like you will get there. Take care & hope it's good news on the scales, cheers, cate

Its good to see everyone is still achieving their goals :)

Since i been back at work full-time my weight loss is on a stand still due to working lates/nights or lates with a early next morning. So NO sleep. Also, sometimes i cant even fit a lunch break in at work. Nursing definitely isnt good for weight loss. You'd think running up and down the ward hundreds of times in a day you'd lose weight. Guess not. So stressful. The other day i had to prepare a poor gentlemen who weighed over 200 kilos for thearte. Its scary how peoples weight can get that bad. The way fellow nursing staff talked about him, i felt so bad for him. Its horrible. But anyways off that subject.

Least ive lost 7.0 kilos which is better then nothing. I'll just have to try and work my weight loss around nursing shifts and squeeze a lunch break in somehow. How is everyone else going?

Does anyone have any quick, easy and tasty dinner/lunch recipes? Struggling for ideas. Think ive tried most things.

What does everyone usually have for lunch or dinner?

Thanks :)

Hi Chanty,
My favourite lunch is cheese, tomato, cucumber on crackers (but you can only have it 3 times a week). The other days I tend to have my allowance of tuna with my mayonaisse and some balsamic vinegar mixed in. Then I finely dice some red onion, celery, tomato and cucumber and mix through. Its quite tasty and easy to take with you to work or if you're going out.
Dinner I am very boring. I usually have steak either with tomato and mushrooms on top or if I haven't eaten my mayonaisse yet, I have cabbage and when cooking it add a little bit of water and then mix the mayonaisse in with a little salt and pepper.
Sorry i can't be of much help but I'm sure there are plenty of Cohenites with much more exciting ideas than mine. I'm a bit of a lazy cook.
Take care
Beck

Hi Chanty, I ate chicken & vegie soup for lunch most days or the tuna/mayo/tomato etc mix or cheese/tomato/crackers/celery. Dinner was chop suey most nights or steak & veg or stir-fries with either chicken or beef. You probably have already looked at this link but just in case-

I used to look at it occasionally just for ideas but used to stick to the things I knew I liked(Chicken soup & chop suey mainly). Sometimes having breakfast for lunch is handy as fruit & yoghurt are so easily portable.
Cheers, Cate

We all seem to have different equations for working out our water.. ha ha ha . they all work out.. thank you very much....

How is your cohen's going? are you able to work it around your shifts? love to see an update.. i have to agree with cate...seems to be bad habbit of mine... i eat pretty much the same things for lunch, cheese and salad, meat and salad.i dont eat fish or seafood.... my version of a quick lunch is my protien plus one or two veg and eating it on the go, my quick breaky the other day was half a cucumber a cracker and an egg... not exciting but it was my weights and it was quick... sad sad sad... well i better go i need to get the kids up and my tone up program starts in an hour so i need to move my booty off this couch..

good luck.
may the water be with you

Getting a new program

I have decided to get a new programme since my old one has not really been working as well as it did. Also, im sure my bio-chemistry has changed over the last 2-3 years so i probably need a new one anyways. Im always hungry on my old program, b4 i never felt like that. What does everyone else think?

I just want to feel and be healthier so much, but trying to be positive and not negative is so hard. Its such a brain game, if im not okay upstairs (brain) then it makes everything so much harder. I had such a horrible year, with my 19yr old sister dying, also my partner has been suffering with depression for the last 2 years and it puts so much strain on me. Ive kind of taken on all his problems and lost myself (but gained all the weight i lost). I used to be happy and proud of myself. But gaining weight always seems to happen when im highly stressed, like when my dad died when i was younger. Im not happy anymore, dont think i have been for the past 2 years. I cant seem to get on top of anything. Im surrounded by such negative energy all the time. Hope this phase will pass soon. I know things will get better, but when???

Chanty- I am so sorry you are having such a hard time. The loss of your sister and your partner's depression sound like more than enough to cope with at the moment. Seek professional help sweet-heart. None of us are Superwoman, even though we try to be all things to all people. You must nurture yourself and break the cycle & seeing someone may help. I, too, am a stress eater but it only compounds the problem & you spiral downwards. Get help now. Professional help. If you don't relate to a counsellor try another until you do. Try to find something simple & pleasant to focus on like meditation or yoga to find some mental peace & quiet. I hope your life gets better soon. Take care of yourself , Cate.

thanks cate, i have and it seems to help. I just need to start getting control back. I find i go through stages were i eat nothing, then i eat way to much, then i eat nothing etc i find when i feel like crap i always eat nothing, when things get better i eat too much. Its so weird how our brains work. Its such a viscious cycle. Ive made an appointment with cohens clinic next tuesday, hopefully it will help. Thanks for your advice.
