trigger foods

Like, any type of cookies/baked goods or pizza. If someone buys like, a box of doughnuts and I am so so so tempted to have some.

Apparently those little corn fritter things. Discovered that one last night :/

I put in some emergency exercise. (which, I should have done anyway, but I was feeling lazy yesterday.) The day ended up being 'ok' (My maintenance level is really high, and I ended up with more burned than eaten for the day... by fitday's calculations), but it had been a 'good' day to one that I barely managed to salvage. Even then, a lot of those fried bastards.

So, yeah... corn fritters :/

I have a hard time with Chinese too - did good this last time, but usually when we eat Chinese food we get the works: soup, won tons, chicken wings, rice, noodles, etc

Mexican food for me. Primarily California Burritos. It's even more difficult when I go see my dad and step mom (they live in mexico since she is mexican) because my step mom is an awesome cook. Most Mexican food does not take a healthy lifestyle into consideration.

But hey, I have self control so I never eat too much when I do have it.

Another thing that I do is use Mexican food as my weekly reward for going to the gym. If I stick to my schedule I get a burrito at the end of the week. It feeds my addiction and keeps me in check.

For me it's fried seafood. Being in New Orleans, we have the best fried seafood anywhere - shrimp, fish, soft shell crabs, oysters... all sooooooo good! But I'll agree with pizza and chinese food as well. It's hard to eat a reasonable amount of either. Plus, when I start a downfall, my attitude is, "Well, I'm already eating poorly, I might as well eat (insert yummy poor choice food here)!" It will last for a few days until I see a jump on the scale and then it will click and my attitude goes to, "Whoa... WTF am I doing?" Then I start eating better again.

I Haven't faced this particular issue yet. I have still been allowing myself a lot of the food that I used to have problems with (ie overeat), just in moderation. I still eat chocolate, pizza, fish+chips etc. - just not every day (or every week even). It seems to be working.

The only things I have avoided completely are soda and potato chips. I have a strong feeling that I couldn't stop eating potato chips if they were in front of me.

Chinese food I could also see having a problem with. I usually went for two plates (sometimes three) at a smorg. Don't think I could hold back if I went to one now. Saving that for some mythical date in the future when I feel like treating myself.
Doesn't hurt that there is NO good Chinese food in the town I live in. That makes it a lot easier. Ditto for most other fast food - a distinct lack of good choices makes it easier to avoid.

At or around maintenance. which means i get about an extra 1000 calories.

yup ^^; had planned to diet nicely today, woke up, had a good breakfast at around 600 kcal, went to gym and burned some 350-400 kcal ish, had a nice waffle (400 kcal) and went to flamenco theater..

THEN I went to pub with my mom and had fries and steak (kcal = 1000 ish? steak was small) XD

so ended up being maintenance.. I seem to do that a lot these days. I only end up dieting proper 4days a week..
I'm at the low end of my goal and just cant seem to be bothered. what with the marathon I plan to run. I need fuel, screw diets! raaah

Trying not to read threads like these, when hungry which is mostly. I am one of those ppl who can eat till full, and than a half hour later, I am starving, so yea.. I try not to eat till full. So it never matters, I am usually always hungry, when I am eating I want more, doesn't matter what it is, but great thread, just couldn't read from the second post and down, gettin hungry.

I totally understand... am the same way
For me, I have different triggers on different days.... The good news is I LOVE veggies, so, i try to have them handy for when I am wanting more.
I do like the idea of being focused for 5 of your days and a little more relaxed on 2... not sure if it would work for me or not

yeah i like the sound of that too...its like the 80% diet etc...

as for veggies...lately i've really got into roasting lots of veggies with a little olive oil & mixing in some low fat feta...its very yummy...esp with wholemeal pitta!! hmmmmmmm as long as i have only 2 pitta & not 10!!!! :)

I can pretty much control myself and/or say no to most foods but for some reason I can finish an ENTIRE bag of cheese puffs like it's my job.

It doesn't mean I'll never have a Cheeto again, I'll just buy individual sized bags occasionally.

Oh and don't forget the fancy, sugar loaded coffee drinks from Starbucks. Or anything coffee flavored for that matter.

I've realized that I don't crave foods if I know they aren't in my kitchen. Although it can get difficult living with 3 guys, 2 of them being as skinny as a string bean, who eat nothing but chips, candy and soda. I've increased my self control a lot while living with them.

DEFINITELY Pasta. Pretty much any kinds. Especially alfredo though, I avoid resteraunts that serve alfredo because I know I simply do not have a strong enough willpower yet to resist it. Even thinking about it right now makes me crave it terribly. *is going to stop talking about it now so I dont go crazy*

Donuts. I can't have just one.... it's like there is no point unless I have a minimum of 3! It does make it easy to have 0 though, since I know I can't have 3.

Unfortunately it's anything I crave for me. I just never know when to stop. Recently it's been cupcakes.

LOL! You are right about the Nutella - it is evil:cuss:!

For me, anything sweet is dangerous to keep around. Mind you, if it involves lemon or coconut, I won't go anywhere near it...Blaah!:ack2:

ABBA

Ugh.....I hate Nutella. I used to buy chocolate spread and eat it with a spoon, but even in my worst days, I couldn't stomach Nutella for some reason. :(

At the moment my trigger foods are more real foods actually.....I love fahitas, with sour cream on them, and could eat myself silly.....or self-made Lasagne. A little bit is okay but it's soooooo difficult not to have a little bit more....and more.....and more.......:drool5:
