Treadmill or ???

I am starting to get bored with the treadmill. I do 15 mins walk, 15 jog, 10 jog, 5 walk every second day. on the other days I do 15 walk, 15 jog, 15 walk ,15 stepper. But I get so bored on the treadmill. What are other types of cardio that are better? I like the stepper and the eliptical but do not like the bike.

I guess what I am trying to say is what is the best type of cardio to help burn calories and lose some weight?

Anything that brings your heartrate up works just as well. The good thing about running is that is brings your heartrate up quickly. If you change the intensity you do the other machines, than it will work out just fine.

I personally use them all each week just to not get bored and to keep my leg muscles balanced.

How about running outdoors. It is way more fun than the treadmill I promise you. However, the impact can be a little harder on your bones and joints regardless of your cardiovascular endurance and muscle strength, so if you decide to hit the great outdoors ease into it slowly.

Running outdoors - get some sunshine, synthesize vitamin D, see mother nature (or at least what little is left of her).

Cycling - low impact, many of the other benefits of running outdoors

Elliptical machine - low impact, great for intervals, more strain on glutes and quads than on calves.

Recumbant bike - low impact, you can read while you're on it, great workout for your quads and glutes, and you get to sit down

Jumping Rope - high intensity cardio and one of the best hypertrophy exercises for calves - and you can do it inbetween resistance sets to keep your heart rate up

Spinning - one of my favorites. You can burn up to 900 calories per hour doing this based on intensity, and it's usually done in a guided group at gyms to music. Lotsa fun.

Plyometric training - quickly alternating jumps and resistance is a super way to jumpstart your cardio as well as muscle growth

High Intensity Intervals - gives you an amazing cardio workout in a third of the time it takes to do a long run

Circuit training - Mixing cardio activities like sprints with resistance training increases the bloodflow through your entire skeletomuscular system while giving you great cardio intensity

jumping jacks. gets your whole body moving. do it HIIT style. its one of my favorite ways to burn fat. i go all out for a minute. then do normal. etc etc.
