Treadmill Running Goals

Hi!

I have a treadmill, and not enough will power to run on it everyday x_x I use my lack of time as an excuse, but everyone knows that really isn't an excuse.

I used to set my goal to, say, 1 mile a day, and that went down the drain within days because some days I would be just so tired. And then the next day I'd just pretend I forgot (yes, that's possible. lol).

I saw in another thread somewhere about running a certain number of miles a week. Would that be a better thing for me?

I'm a 16 year old at 185.2 lb. 5'7". :)

you're 16 - lack of time is no excuse... time constraints just get worse as you get older and have more responsibilities... If it's important to you - you make the time to do it...

As for a goal - there's no one size fits all goal for people.. you have to set your own goal... What works best for you?

Is working out 30 minutes a day 4 times a week your goal -- then do that...

No one else can make your goal for you but you - and it should be something you can realistically achieve... Then when you meet that goal - set a new one...

Actually, my age has nothing to do with my lack of time. I work for my parents and don't usually get home until late at night.

Anyways, I'll try and set the goal. ._.

Hey. I guess you just have to finally be ready to make a change in your life. I finally had to quit lying to myself and say that the exercise isn't really negotiable. How many years did I want to waste being fat and unhappy? I've already missed out on so much because I was insecure about my weight for so long. If I want to succeed and get to where I want to be (and have wanted to be for a long time) then I have to make sure I get myself to the gym for some serious workouts. Start small and build from there. You can do it, and if you really want to do it you will find the time :)

Good Luck,
Sam

Alrighty ;)

So last night I again ran a mile without stopping at 5mph. It was endurable, so I'm sticking to it.

Later when I can do a mile without much difficulty, I'll raise the amount.

ugh i am feeling some pain with the treadmill. i have one at home and made every exscuse to NOT get on it. now i hit the gym and love it. i havent hit the gym in over a week due to a stomach bug in my house that hit in waves and didn't want to leave and i have not even looked at my treadmill.....
i use time as an exscuse too between work, kids, and school full time but i finally realized i have to MAKE time fo rit. i am so unhappy with how i look that I need to get fit for ME! and i need to make sure my kids know i did everything i could to be healthy for them and how can i make my kids eat healthy if i won't?
