don't do it every day, or you will over train yourself which is a bad thing. you can do it about 4-5 days a week. yes the treadmill will work, you need to eat good, get a diet plan. also every 3500 calories you burn loses a pound.
You can't spot reduce fat - a full body weight/strength training workout 3x a week plus cardio 4-5x a week (preferably interval training) and a clean healthy food plan and you'll lose the weight.
