Treadmill and Ab workouts hurt, what do I do?

In the summer, I would go running outside. Now that it is winter, I don't go running outside (I'm not an avid runner). I try to use the treadmill to run, but my knees and ankle are in agony within minutes. It never hurt to run outside, but on the treadmill it does. I go to the gym as often as I can and use the elliptical, but that is only on the weekends, I use weights every other day on the weekdays (exercise tv), but I really want to do more cardio! Is there anything I can do to help my knees/ankles on the treadmill? I put the incline up to 1 or 2, and I have/used to have orthotics, but they don't help.

Also, I have hyper-lordosis, and so doing ab exercises are almost impossible. I have heard a thousand times "tilt your pelvis while doing your exercises." Tried that! I can get one, MAYBE two reps in, and then I have to re-situate myself. Sometimes I have good days, where I can actually do a couple sets of one or two ab exercises. When I had lost some weight, it was easier to do. Any tips, or other ab exercises I can do? And please, no more of those pelvic tilts-it doesn't work for me!

Thank you!

Maybe you should see a physical therapist or a personal trainer since they really know their stuff? How about swimming or biking?

Hi,

I recommend you to test different sports. Try to swim, long walks, biking etc. Try cross training. In the other words, add to your weekly program different types of trainings to avoid injuries. You can also put some variation to inside your daily exercise as well. It will also help to avoid injuries.
