Alright, I've generally been overweight my entire life. A few times I was able to slim down, but I was still skinny-fat and it wasn't the kind of thing I was looking for. Well, now I've got the time and ability to completely reconstitute my entire body from the ground up (or from the inside out) and, after 5 months of backbreaking work the results are starting to come rapidly.
I've been working on fast-twitch muscle groups, and been doing light weights/high reps for strength training. My body was primarily made up of slow-twitch muscles, large muscles designed to move weight slowly and surely. The idea was to start to develop fast-twitch fibers because their ability to use energy is much greater and your MBR is higher with a greater presence of those muscles.
It took MONTHS before I started to see results. I wasn't doing hours of cardio, I wasn't maxing out my bench press, I was hitting the heavy bag then doing some extra exercises as well... and all of a sudden, about two weeks ago, I started seeing some small definition in my back. Now if I raise my arms up, I can see the outline of a few ribs. My pants are getting a little looser. I find I can sustain an extra twenty minutes of exercise without tiring.
Muscle Milk has really helped me, I highly suggest this stuff to anyone. Running has helped as well, but not running 6 miles at a slow pace. I do 10/20's, 20/40's, 30/60's, and 60/120's on the track by my barracks for 2 miles. What these are are simply run full out for the first amount of time (In the 10/20, sprint for 10 seconds) then jog the other amount of time (20 seconds), rinse and repeat until the desired distance/time is over.
The funny thing is, even with the smaller belly (I lost an inch over a weeks time for some reason, and yes I eat healthy) I'm 15 pounds heavier. My body feels lighter.
If someone is having trouble with their weight loss due to low metabolic rate, and if you have the large amount of patience to try this, I really suggest it. I'm going to post pictures in 60 days of before/after and I think the results will speak for themselves. You won't see any major changes at first, but when they come they really really come fast.
