too tired to exercise

im 15, 170 pounds, and 5' 8''...ive tried dieting and exercising for a long time, but i always run into the same problem...i am far too tired to exercise at all and i feel that continuing on such a strict diet would be worthless (1300 calories per day)

Start somewhere. Give up one soda a day, or only have a few snacks a week.

Incorporate a certain level of physical activitiy a certain amount of times a week, too.

Yeah man, people always fail when they change too much at once. Just change 1 small thing every week and keep a diary.

dont get tiredness confused with lack of motivation. get in to the "just do it" attitude. Maybe you should try doing a shorter workout so it doesnt matter about how much energy you have.

If you feel a bit tired you wont want to do a 2hour work out. But if you got in to the routien of doing 30-45mins a day, then you'll get used to it quicker. you'll also have more energy the next day AND you'll be burning more calories in total at the end of the week.

lunch for energy?

i might have found a possible reason i am so tired after school...i dont have anything for lunch at all, and usually my breakfast is fairly small, a bowl of total cereal...i am going to bring soemthing to school for lunch, and that might give me more energy after school and maybe even eliminate my craving for a meal right after school, which is between lunch and dinner...

You should still eat something after school. I dont know how many times it can be said "You need to eat five to six meals a day."

Yeah man, you gotta eat healthy food all the time. 6times a day.

so if you eat 1300 cals a day, you must eat that pretty much all in one go???

that is a lot of cals for one meal. unless your a 250lbs athlete then you dont need more than 600 cals in a meal.

if your trying to loose weight and doing regular light exercise then you should eat 6 meals of 350cals on average. or
meal 1 - 500cals
2 - 200cals
3 - 500cals
4- 200cals
5- 400cals
6- 200cals

another question, does eating lunch during school at lunch time increase the amount of energy i might have after school? or more importantly does it raise my
metabolism at all? ive sort of been wondering something else as well, if i am feeling my stomach rumbling, does that mean that my stomach is in starvation mode and im not eating enough meals throughout the day?

well done for rewriting your question,. I understand now.

yes. basicly.

when your hungry your body will absorb all the fats and carbs you eat, however eatting when your not hungry will mean that your body will only take what it needs.

Before everyone starts moaning, Im just putting this very simply so he understands.

eatting lunch will give energy for the rest of the day. Food is our fuel isnt it?

its best to eat bigger meals earlyer on during the day whilst you still have time to burn it off. If you have food n your belly when you go to bed, you have no way of burning it off, so it wil lall turn to fat.
eat only fruit, nuts, veg and meat before bed, and dont eat carbs after 5ish, unless you weight train after 5.

You still havnt answered what exercise you do.

for cardio i usually play basketball for about 20-30 min at a time...ride my bike...i have a weight training workout i do when im obviously not too tired to be motivated enough to get up and do it...that workout is (exercise- sets of reps @ weight)

Bench Press 3 of 10 @ 80
Db Press 2 of 10 @30 per arm
Dead LIfts 2 of 10@60
Db Curls 3 of 10 @25
Bent over dumbbell row 3 of 10 @25

thats the one i did today, i have other workouts ill do other days...
