Too old to ne new!?!?!

Hey everyone! Here I go.
I'm 27 (too old to be this overweight), with 2 beautiful little girls (3 yrs & 8 months) a great husband and a temporary life in Germany. After each of my girls, I have gained more weight than during pregnancy. Due mostly to a hormone issue. Thyroid too low. But, it seems to be a postpartum thing that is supposed to fix itself about 12 months postpartum. I could go on pills for it, but I would have to quit breastfeeding, something I'm not ready to do yet (neither is little-tyke!) So i'm back on the exercise wagon! This is hard to do between preschool, drs' appts, dance, gymnastics, Dh work activities and housework! I want to lose about 65 pounds. That is my long term goal - something I'm willing to work long and hard for. I figure that if it takes a while to get it off, I'll continue to work hard to keep it off. I'm trying to set a short-term goal. I guess like 10 weeks - (that would be around Christmas I think). Since I'm breastfeeding I have to keep my colorie intake about where it is, I'm just going to curb a little of my fat intake and get back to being a little more active. I think if I lost 15 pounds by Christmas I would be thrilled, but at the same time, I wonder if 10 pounds would be a better goal. Anyone have any ideas for me!?!? Any support would be appreciated!

Good luck!

It's really up to you whether to aim for 10 or 15... personally if you are relying on excercise alone I'd probably suggest to aim for 10 myself -better to have a smaller goal and reach it than have a higher one and feel like you've failed if you don't manage it in time. :) Besides which even 10 pounds would be a big acheivement.

Okay, I was 238 and caved and weighed myself even though it hadn't been a week (only 3 days to be exact) and I'm at 235. I guess my body really needed me to be working out (even a little!)! I think I will shoot for 15 pounds off by Christmas. I know a pound a week is most recommended, and at the beginning, more will come off than later. But even if I reach for 223, I have 9.5 weeks until Christmas. I think I can do it! Let's cross our fingers!!

Ok then, well good luck!! You will need some serious excercise to acheive it! You must have been getting some anyway, I've never yet known a mum who didn't get plenty of excercise one way or another lol.
