Tony Little's Gazelle?

i have the gazelle it is great it works really well if you include their excercises on it like the squats etc its great for cardio and you keep an eye on how much calories you burn my friend has had hers longer than mine and has got great definition in her legs

I recently recieved a gazelle, (the cheap one) in February, and I like it. I've honestly used it alot more than I thought I would. The results aren't happening as fast as I like, but when it comes to losing weight when are the results fast?

I use my gazelle and I have to say that until now... now that my routine has really gone up a notch ..i used to love it...now i really have to push myself on it and really crank on the speed to even work up a sweat....I know i recommended it if you are just beginning exercise...but I am now going to look at a recumbant bike. Where do you live teddy? I would be happy to send it to you if you want to just pay the shipping for the gazelle..let me know

i would get the elliptical instead. have heard so many success stories with it. i wish i had room for one. do any of them fold up?

it's like an ellipical trainer, except you aren't taking steps, your basically just gliding back and forth ... it's a lot cheaper and does not need electricity ... i think it's garbage, myself.

I have a gazelle and I honestly love it for cardio. It's a great for beginners because it's easy to use and low impact. I've just started my new diet yesterday and I am using the gazelle for 20 minutes a day (which is about all I can handle right now), then when my body has hit the "fat burning zone" I continue my workout with push-ups, squats, lunges, and an abdominal exercise. It's way too early for me to see any results yet, but it feels like one heck of a work-out. I'd say that if you are interested in one, go for it.

Little Gazelle??

I bought the little gazelle or gazelle edge(not sure exactly) a couple years ago but haven't really used it much and was wondering if anyone has used it and gotten some good results on it. I have the one where you DON'T have resistance and everything. I know I'm burning calories using it because I'm moving and all but it doesn't seem to get my heart rate up or make me really sweat so I'm wondering if it's even worth using. Let me know if you know anything about it. TIA

If it provides no resistance, therefore not getting your heart rate up or making you sweat... you might as well be washing the dishes by hand.

Anything that gets your heart rate up will do you some good. So in that sense, yes it's fine, if and only if you actually get your heart rate going and break a sweat. If that isn't happening, your pretty much wasting your time.

All movement burns some calories, even tapping your foot while sitting at your desk. However, in order to count as exercise and be worth setting aside the time to do it, there needs to be some actual exertion involved, and that means getting your heart rate up.

i have a gazelle... it's under my bed, and that is where it stays. for me it was very hard to work up a sweat using it and it made my ankles sore and my toes fall asleep. at first i thought maybe i was doing it wrong, but i kept it up for a couple weeks and talked to some other people i knew about it... it never got better and everyone else felt the same as me. just my experience with it though :D

I can't understand why people spend so much just to lose weight! Isn't it easier, more enjoyable and alot cheaper just to walk/jog every day?

Gazelle Edge helps me lose!

I bought a Gazelle Edge recently because I was bored with the treadmill. I started seeing a bigger weight loss immediately. I can get my heart rate up very fast, and burn about 100 calories in less than 10 minutes! Just thought I would share my success with the Gazelle Edge with anyone who may need a boost in their excercise routine!

Anything 'works', as long as there is a caloric deficit.

My definition of 'works' drastically differs your definition though. Using my definition, it doesn't work.

That said, how do you know it burns 100 calories every 10 minutes? Seems a little unrealistic to me.

Wow, sorry for sharing.

Im not sure where I said anything that would require a negative response, but anyways... It has a calorie counter on it, so thats where I got that it would burn that much. I dont think that one machine "works" and I dont think I ever said that in the first place. This is MY opinion only. I thought that was obvious though.

What do you think my "definition" is anyways? Not sure how you have anything to compare it to.. All I said is that it works for me and is not a boring machine. My weight loss comes from excercise, water, and cutting my calories. Thats my definition.

Glad it works!

Morning,

Glad it works for you! I think anything that gets you moving and motivates you to continue long-term is a useful thing.

One of the oddest things that worked for me a few years ago was (get this) shopping carts. Yes, plain old shopping carts - I idly measured the distance up and down one of my local strip malls, and found out that the full length was 1/3 a mile. Thus, if I walked that 3 times, I'd effectively walk a mile each time! Not only that, but my son could sleep in the cart or watch the scenery go by.

That was super for me, as back then, I tired easily and wasn't really committed to losing weight. At least it did get me moving!

One thing you might discover as time goes by is that your body will adapt to your current usage...and you'll have to either:

a.) Do more
b.) Add additional workouts

For me personally, I found that workout DVDs were very beneficial. has lots of great suggestions and ideas. My favs ended up being Richard Simmons, Billy Blanks and Turbo Jam.

My comments,

Barbara
