Tony Little Gazelle

I have been using my new Gazelle for a week now. It is very easy and fun to use, and for someone with as many health problems as I have, that is a plus. The problem that I have is everytime I use it, I am slightly dizzy and have a little nausea that subsides after the first 10 minutes, but if I stay on it steady for more than 25-30 minutes, I have about 3-4 hours afterwards of SEVERE motion sickness. I haven't been able to find any info about this, and haven't received any reply from his website. Has anyone heard of this problem? If so, did it subside in time, with continued use? The only other problems I have with motion sickness are when trying to read in a moving car, or after spending an entire day (more than 6 hours) out on our boat. I'm hoping it will go away, because I really love this machine. I've lost 4 pounds in the first week, and my husband has lost 6.

i did a google search and couldnt come up with anything. have you talked to your doctor about it? maybe he can offer something

and i'd keep pressing his website. you're a customer so you're the boss. they need to get back with you

Can I ask if you are using the Elite Gazelle? Is it a specific model you are using? I am VERY interested in getting one of these and wondering if I needed to go for the high dollar model?

Hey thanks for your response! Good news, the symptoms have all stopped! I can now go to 45 minutes without anything but a good sweat! My doctor said it was most likely due to the "swinging" motion of the machine, mixed with looking from the TV, or something in the room, and then looking down at the computer screen on the machine. He said it could cause the same eye movements that trigger motion sickness while reading in a car.

Abear: The only response that I got from the website was that I needed to PAY for online support from a "personal trainer". Like the $300+ I paid for the machine wasn't worth answering one little question. Oh well. My doctor answered for free.

Sanandlou: I got the "power plus" model. It is $100 less than the elite. We are very happy with it. I've found that I get the same results (heart rate, good sweat, etc) from 45 minutes on the gazelle as I did doing a 5 lap brisk walking pace around my neighborhood, but I no longer need to worry about the weather, If I have clean workout clothes, or a babysitter! :D We also got the Ab Lounge at the same time and we work out on both every night and are getting good results. I couldn't do sit ups or crunches because of lower back problems, but I can do crunches on the ablounge until I'm really feeling the burn without ANY pain in my back at all!

Oh good Fishing.. That's funny that you got vertigo from your workout! :) A friend of mine said I can have her treadmill but I'm pretty big so I'd love to pick up a gazelle for the non-impact on my knees.. Income tax time is upon us! Good luck with your weight loss!

Sanandlou-Yes, the Gazelle will be perfect for you! I have severe mixed connective tissue disease and fibromyalgia and ANY type of exercise would literally put me in bed for a week, and forget any type of impact! That makes the joints and ligaments in my knees and ankles hurt SO bad. I feel like I have found something that is going to save my life! I am still in shock over my stamina and the amount of time that I can spend on it without pain afterwards! And surprisingly, the upperbody workout is good too, because of the pressure that is put on your arms to get yourself going and to keep a good stride. As far as being big, my best friend is right at 300 pounds, and she has been coming over every day to use it, and it is very easy for her too. Everyone that comes over wants to try it out. The Chinese food delivery guy even saw it and wanted to try it. :D
