Hi
This morning I woke up and thought thats it, todays the day I get serious about my weight loss. I am 48 will be 49 at Christmas, I have a 28 year old son who is making me a grandmother in 6 weeks time. I am a Brit who is living in USA and enjoying every minute of it.
I never had a problem with my weight until I had a hysterectomy at the age of 30 at which time I also gave up smoking. Not long after that my long term relationship fell apart and we separated, which was a good job really, we should have separated earlier, however during the last few years of my relationship I started to gain weight, I went up to 240 lbs even at 5' 8" thats way to much. I have been in menopause for 18 years having hot flashes every few minutes, feeling bloated every minute of every day, always being tired, been to see the doctor who's only offer was lose weight and take some hormones. I have a hip problem which was caused by breaking my back 28 years ago, I suffer all the time with Sciatica in both hips which goes down to my ankles and its so bad sometimes the pain is in my groin which makes even walking difficult. I am now remarried to a wonderful man, so life is good apart from my weight.
So I need to tackle the weight, I have lost 40 lbs already just by making changes slowly to my diet, but I seem to have ground to a halt and I find I am off the wagon more than I am on it.
Finding this forum will be the best thing that happened to me, I have friends who are supportive but they are fighting their own battles with weight and only want to talk about the latest fad, I want it to be a life style change, this has to be for life.
So guy's I look forward to reading the boards and posting questions, and using all the tools that are available to me.
