Tired of the old way

Hi everyone, I am new here. I've come to this forum because there doesn't seem to be a huge list of 'quick fix' diets. I have tried them all and am really fed up with the roller coaster. I want to change my attitude to food and not use it as a crutch to 'feel better'. I'm looking forward to easing myself into a healthier lifestyle, one that doesn't feel like a radical change or a deprivation.

I am 36, female and a mum of two lovely children. I am also a carer for my partner at the moment. I don't get out of the house as much as I would like, but I do look forward to my walks with the dog.

I LOVE cooking, and hoping to find some recipes that doesn't always involve chips or stodgy potatoes!

here's to the new me!! :waving:

Hi Zeblady,

I'm new here too and recently have changed to a healthy eating lifestyle. I wish you the best of luck!

Since you mentioned recipes, I wanted to mention a really easy one for you incase you don't already know it. I have been eating a lot of whole grain brown rice and it can be hard to get it to have much flavor. If you make the rice (i use the uncle bens 10 minute version), once the water is cooked out (or absorbed or whatever happens to it) add a half cup of salsa to it and stir it in. It's an incredibly easy side dish or lunch and the half cup of salsa I am told is equivelant to a serving of vegetables.
