hello there.

my name is rosie, i'm 20. i'm from the UK.

i'm 5'6 and i currently weigh 190lbs.
according to the BMI scale i am obese.

whilst i don't feel "obese", i'm certainly not happy with the way i look, and i would like to be in the middle of the "healthy" section, i think it'll help me re-gain some lost confidence and self-esteem, and no-one likes to be in the situation where they could be making themselves ill.

in order to reach my "ideal weight", i need to lose 60lbs. that's about 4 stone.

and i have no idea where to begin.
i'm vegetarian, i eat mainly vegetables, i try to steer clear of chocolate and crisps. i don't eat many sweets, primarily due to their gelatin content. i don't eat a lot of pasta, rice, bread or potatoes. and due to my jobs i am constantly on my feet. for example, on a regular saturday i will be up at 7am, and i won't finish work until 2am the next morning.

i just don't understand what i'm doing wrong, it's really getting me down. i'm deeply unhappy within myself, and it's time to make a change.

any help, tips, ideas, advice and support would be very greatly appreciated.

thanks.

rosie

HI Rosie,
Congratulation on your decision of changing!!! That is a big change!!
I am a vegetarian also and I was also eating pretty healthy prior to my weight loss quest. What I learned by tracking my calories that my portions were healthy but way too huge!! And I was big on sweets.
Do you drink soda? That was the first thing I gave up and just drink a lot water.
Welcome to the forums, lurk around and read the sticky posts, there is a wealth of information on here to kick your weight loss in gear!! Also starting a diary helps!!
