It is a "gift" when you remember why and who it is you are working with...
It is a "curse" when you ignore or forget what and how you should be teaching sharing your "gift".

One of the problems with personal-trainers is that they lose sight of being more human and less mechanical - feel more and think less.
"Ego erases Experience!"

Make the time to observe-study personal-trainers "nature" of teaching.
Don't compare trainers just obeserve each one's own understanding of health with exercise and working with the "exerciser"-client.

Obeserve, listen and see:
Is there an open-line of communication between trainer-client?
Are there questions and answers between client-trainer?
Are the responses from trainers the usual things read and said from the books?
Is there a genuine healthy-interest sensed between trainer-client?
Does the client express satisfaction during the exercise session or just follows along what the trainer says to do?
Is there an atmosphere of health or an enviornment for fitness?
Can you distinguish between the two????

There are many teaching variables when working with PEOPLE and each one's present-health.
You need to discover your own way of approaching people's health with physical exercise.
You must start with your own understanding of human-health and physical exercise performance.

You should findout what is right from the wrong and make it better.
You must see the truth in false of human-health with physical exercise and share it while teaching.
Most important, always challenge knowledge...don't merely accept it. This starts with what it is I am writing right now.
Understand what can be used now and put aside the other stuff for now.
Close the "gap" between knowledge and understanding; one is accumulated and the other is user-friendly.
Last, be open-minded by being "open-hearted" by which I mean be intelligent not intellectual.
Originate don't imitate. There too many of this kind already.
When you can initiate, you will motivate others and perpetuate what it is most needed...healthy-educators not more personal-trainers.

Thanks man, :) I have the privilege to do a co-op with physiotherapists so i watch them when they teach exercises to their clients. So i have seen a decent amount of teaching experience.

Thanks for the advice :) it's very appreciated.

I really enjoyed reading this - I am going for me NASM certification and maybe ACE. But these are some great tips! Thanks.

Hello guys.....!
Thanks for the sharing great tips, and the information what you have posted are very useful and please keep sharing these like useful informations with us. thanks.

The one piece of advice I would give any trainer that is starting out, especially one that is young like yourself, is be able to back up what you are telling people with some kind of scientific reasoning. Clients are going to question what you are having them do especially since you are young.

It is a blessing to be young and getting into the field early. I started working with a Division I baseball team at 22. I was younger than a couple of the guys on the team. I made sure that I could back everything I was doing with the guys and when they saw results it wasn't hard to keep their respect.

ALOHA Gang!

Here is what I share with those who are starting out "teaching" physical exercise -young or very-matured - it don't matter:
" What is implied should be applied so it can be complied."
...And this will start with you first.

To have "experience" has no age nor how much knowledge is accumulated.
It is about "doing" even if the outcome is wrong (if you are aware of this) will give you the opportunity to make it right so the door is open to make it better for others.

It is Understanding that makes proper physical-techniques.
Wethere your process of understanding is gradual or immediate try to think less and feel more.
For it to be right it surely must feel good and healthy!

Aloha for now....mikey q.
