Time for a change ..

Hey all.
I'm Lindsey.
I came across this forum and I liked the layout and how it was categorized.

I'm 23 years old.
I'm about 5'7" and I way around 270 lbs.
I have gotten so out of shape, that now when I try to do anything, I sweat up a storm and I puff with the littlest of physical activity. I don't do anything anymore because if I do anything at all, I get tired, out of breathe and soaked with sweat. I can't handle it anymore and I need to do something.

I've been a bit overweight since I was about 16. It was never really a issue until about the last year. I've been suffering from bouts of depression and some anxiety, and my weight gain has made things tougher.

I'm here because I need motivation. I need suggestions on exercise. I'm on a budget and can't really afford to go to the gym. I need support. I need to know that I'm not the only one.

My goal weight is 200. I'm not sure what would be a healthy weight range for someone of my height.. as I said, I'm around 5'7 or 5'8. But right now, 200 is the number I'm looking for. But actually, it's not even the number I want, I just want to feel normal and healthy again.

So hello all. Here I am.

Hello! I think 200 is a GREAT goal to start with! Once you reach that goal, you can set a new one if you want to! Welcome to the forum! You will find lots of great advice and support here! :D

Hi Lindsey!

You're definitely not alone. There's a lot of people here who have 'been there' where you are... and they've succeeded in taking the weight off, or they're in progress, but still succeeding with each pound lost. Its a very supportive forum.

Look through the stickied posts in each of the categories... you will find a lot of great info that will help answer questions you may initially have (such as exercise and what to eat), start a diary to help you keep track of your progress. Accountability helps, believe me. You may also want to start logging your calories at fitday.com. Or not... its all up to you on how you want to do it.

200 is a great goal to start out with. When you get there, you can decide whether you are happy there or if you want to set a new goal.

Welcome, and good luck!

Thanks for words of encouragement. I've never tried to do anything like this. I'm really excited! :)
